Awhile back I managed to order a few of the 10 rd longs from S&W and just recently pulled them out to convert to 25rd/load and well....... Noticed there was no load assist button. I could have used a screw driver or a golf tee, but I didn't want to mess w/ it every time I reload them, so I picked up these little guys for added bling bling.

I got these from Raven Eye (found them on youtube) and if anyone is looking for a really nice product such as these load buttons, they are high quality! I bought the 8pack blue for the 5 S&W's and used the other 3 on my Pmags.

Thumbs up!

Do you have to insert the post to load the mags or can you move the load assist button with your fingers like on the 25's?

8 mags?! U suck....kidding

I'm down to 16 mags now and plan on getting more for the pamgs.

Some may prefer it, but I did the same what Majorlk did.

S&W will send you the buttons for free.

I did not know that and even if I did, I would have still bought these. They make the mag so much tighter.

I just googled them and saw the pack you bought, bought the same thing.

Now I just need some magazines. Get rid of the RED!

$26.85 USD Shipped for the pack of 8 and the loading tool. I'm assuming the loading tool holds the follower at the bottom when you tighten it?

No the tool does not lock the button in any position. There's no reason to do so.

Sure there is, lock it in the compressed position and you don't have to hold it there.

If it doesn't do this, I don't see the purpose of the tool. Just to make it easier to hold the loading button down?

Say what? Mine has no provision for locking anything. The two pieces simply slip together. And yes, the sole purpose is to make it easier to pull the button down - easier is a matter of opinion.

Again the question - why would you want to lock the follower down? Loading a S&W magazine that way is a sure way to have feeding problems. Lots of threads on the subject.

I didn't say yours had that provision, perhaps you should re read my reply?

You said there's no reason to do so. I said "Sure there is", and explained a reason to do so. Whether it is useful or not in your opinion, it is still a 'reason to do so'. I personally think the built in button is easy enough to hold down.where needed.

I don't have this setup yet and the instructions for install don't really say what the purpose of the tool is for that comes with the buttons. I only bought the armorers kit because it is the best setup for the money.

Now you explained what the tool does, and now I know.

It's abvious he doesn't load the same as we do or as per the manual. He's a feed dumper. Hold down the spring & follower and "dump" the ammo in the hole...Then complain about feeding problems and how bad the product is...

If you load like that then you are going to have problems. Its not a matter of if its going to happen but a matter of WHEN is it going to happen. You may get away with it for awhile but it will catch up to you. In any event, when it happens, everyone knows the reason why it happened.:)

No... I have loaded this magazine once. I pulled the spring down with the button about a half inch, started putting in the rounds, and then continued just sliding it down while I filled the mag up, making sure they were staggered.

The only thing I was trying to figure out was the use of the tool that came with what I bought. I thought maybe it did something, I didn't say it did do that, nor did I say I'd use it like that.

Just because someone asks about a capability, doesn't mean they are using that capability. Sounds kind of like the entire gun control argument.

What's with all the jumping to conclusions?

Sorry for the confusion ...

The loading tool doesn't work on the 10 round conversion mags. This is from the Raven Eye website:

"Note that the loading tool does not work on the 25 round magazines that have the limiter that only allows for 10 rounds to be loaded. If you live in California or New York you likely have these. The loading assist tool and buttons work on the factory 25 round magazines, the much smaller 10 round magazines, and the new Pro Mag 35 round magazines."
