So I've got 6 of the 25 round magazines and a 10 round magazine.

I haven't shot my 15-22 much to-date, but last night I decided before the next range trip I'll go ahead and load up the magazines insuring that all the rounds stagger properly etc.

I tried w/ the ALAB, a couple other methods I've used / learned from the ar-15 and other pistol / rifles magazines...

I got frustrated pretty easily so I took to the forums / web and found this video which, in my opinion, is by far the best way to load the magazines so far.

S&W M&P 15-22 Magazine Loading without the load assist - YouTube

All that being said, someone come out with a dang speedloader for this thing! I'd pay seriously good money for something along the lines of the Butler Creek loader I use on my 10/22.

Yup, I love loading my magazines like that. It's really easy and fast once you get used to it.

For me the ALABs are a plus. I insert the cartridges with my right hand the way brett248vista demonstrates, but I pinch the buttons between the thumb and index finger of my left hand and pull down as I load. I hold the bottom of the mag against my stomach, and I make sure the cartridges are pointed up the whole time so gravity pulls them toward the back of the mag. I also jiggle the whole stack up and down a little with the ALAB after each round or two to make sure they are in there right and that the bullet end of the top one pops up the way it should. Using the buttons properly (only to assist as I push the previous cartridge down with the next one) definitely helps me, and I can load mags just about as fast as Brett does in the video.

I actually use the forward assist to push UP on the follower in the beginning. Otherwise my rounds wont stagger properly. After about 10 rounds, I don't use it at all, and then for the last 3 or so I use it to pull down to make it easier on my weak fingers.

Just buy a Black Dog or Christie's AR 22 loader. Works just like the pistol ones pressing on the follower on the AR15-22 mags also. You never get any out of sequence when pressing on the follower instead of using the assist buttons.

Last week I loaded 20 of the 25rds mags. My thumbs are still freaking sore. I'll definitely pay for a "working" speedloader.

At first I hated loading my magazine... keep in mind, I can only load 10 because I live in CA, but all the same, I had this little screw driver from a model, and stuck it in the hole of the riser and just pulled down on it and load in the ammo. I have the magazine between the knees. Pretty darn easy so I would assume it'd be the same for a 25 round magazine. Just my wooden nickels worth.

This thing looks pretty nifty! Might have to pick one up

Gotta love the old timers.....Just suck it up and load it like a Man.....why in my day we had to load mags with bloody finger tips and Jap bullets wizzin over our heads in under 45 seconds...."but gramps they got this cool new thing that loa....." Shut up and grow some balls boy! :D;):D;):D;)
P.S. I wouldn't know which end was what without you guys!

I might do a small Youtube clip sometime showing how fast loading the magazines like Brett are. You don't need to fiddle with screwdrivers, no sore thumbs, you don't need to buy a loader, etc. It just may take some practice as at first, I had trouble balancing the round on top of the other.

Funny, I do it just like the manual says and I have no sore thumbs or anything else. Funny how following the instructions often works best. :)
