We have a couple of dozen made in stainless. When I get back from vacation I'll check them over and make sure I want to put my name on them. If all is well, then there may well be a limited number of KLN stainless by the end of the month.

There are videos on how to remove the lock. Basically you take the side plate off, remove the hammer, and use a small screwdriver to push the fork out of the slot in the lock. The same spring loaded fork will retain the plug.

Hey, Mr. Ed Jennings of Jennings Machine and Tool.

Have you reached a comfort level on supplying this nice improvement for some "newer" S&W revolvers?

My wife will tell you that sometimes my observation and reading skills let me down, but I didn't see any instructions for ordering a plug, other than the original "estimate" of a $35 price.

I spent about three hours today with some scrap aluminum from a bird feeder perch, a drill (to simulate a lathe), a Dremel tool with a cut off wheel, and some hand tools. As you can see, the result is an "almost" perfect aluminum plug for my wife's 638-3 that still needs a little attention. :o

Admittedly, I am retired and enjoy tinkering, but it made me appreciate the value of your offering. I may be in the market for a stainless plug to fit a 638-3 (J-frame). Do you have any idea of when such an item might become available from you? Oh, and could your spell out the ordering method that would be most convenient for you?

I would have sent you a PM and still can, but realized that your reply might be of interest to more than just me.

Thank you!

Just got off the phone with my partner in this venture. We currently have about 50 units that will fit the KLN frames. I have yet to check the finish on the end of the plug and test fit one in my 686 that is on the bench in pieces. Hope to accomplish this next week. If everything is good to go, I will offer these for sale. The ordering process will be to send me a check or money order for $35, which will include shipping. Additional plugs in the same order will be $32. Please don't start ordering before I let you know these are actually ready to ship.

...J frame plugs are just around the corner.
If there was a "Love" button, I would have clicked it. As it is, "Like"!

Thanks again for taking this on - I hope it works out well for everyone involved.
