Longest revolver shot U ever made

Oh, in addition..

Last time at the range I got a dead on bulls eye at 15 yards (Or was it 10?) with my 5943, offhand. Most were close but the overall pattern was fist sized. The Bullseye on the target I was using had a 3/8" bulls eye. That's good for me.

1. I used to go out in the desert a lot carrying my 6 inch Ruger Security Six. I wanted more stand-off capability, so I sighted it in for 100 yaards with Federal 125 gr JHPs. I had no trouble keeping my shots on a silhouette target at that range, but both sight alignment and trigger pull had to be perfect. Still, a rifle-armed assailant would be in for a surprise.

2. Out at the range one day with a Browning Baby 25. I was trying to cure its chronic feeding problems (I didn't). Had some ammo left over and shot at a 55 gallon drum at the 100 yard range. The little gun went 'pop' and after a respectable interval, the drum went 'clank'. My eyes got big and wide! Next time out I had a lot of ammo and found I could get hits most of the time, again if my sight alignment and trigger pull were perfect. Of course, the thing was hitting about one foot high at 50 yards. Got rid of it due to the feeding problems.

3. Once, out in the desert with a silhouette target and a stocked Broomhandle. Shooting prone, I put the target farther and farther out. I was getting hits at 300 yards, but could get no longer range due to the arrangement of the sand dunes. I estimate I could have made hits at 400 yards, but not much more.

Like many here, I used to shoot IMHSA. Dumped my share of rams over. I always had trouble with them danged turkeys!

Longest was a 24" gong at a range I used to go to set at 400 yards. I rang it one out of 6 with a .45 Colt Vaquero I had.
