A new show on A&E tonight. Longmire just might be trying to grab the Justified audience. Looks good to me. I'll be watching. Keep in mind, I also like Sons of Guns.

I've read about five of the Walt Longmire books and they are very good. Not sure how well the TV will interpret.

It was pretty good. I think my old man has a few of the books, I'll have to ask. Rule3, I know the two shows have nothing to do with one another. It was meant to be a tongue in cheek reference for my opinion.

It was a good show, it's about time another decent cop show / western showed up.

While the plot and gun knowledge wasnt clear enough I still enjoyed it. The part where he inspects the rifle for all of two secounds, unflinching puts a shell in it, proclaims it aint the murder gun because its corroded from black powder and attemts to fire it was pretty thin!
Its slightly more beliveable than walker, texas ranger.

Was ok. I enjoyed it. Not a "hanging on the edge of your seat excitement " but ill watch again. As for the internet AK reference. Its called gunbroker, auction arms, WTS sections of gun forums. So yea you can buy an AK online.

I was really hoping this would be very good. Was a little disappointed last night but will give it a few more chances.

I watched it thought that it wasn't all that good. I'll give it a couple of more show before passing final judgement.

I'll pass too. Don't know where they got their info on Sharps rifles. Takes 5 sec to reload! They just need some encouragement, like a Brown Bear at 15 feet. Jim

I hope the books are better than the TV show. That was a waste of an hour last night. The acting was great if this had been a high school production and they really need a technical adviser for car crashes and firearms. I will not watch again.

You know, I think the younger generation has been ruined on slower paced more beliveable shows by watching nothing but far out impossible action for so many years that a everyday realistic show of anykind doesnt stand a chance. Sure, I like watching walker texas ranger once in awhile, but has anyone complained about walker dukeing it out and whipping all customers with karate and the like WHILE he has that big magnum strapped on crossdraw, and how long do you think he would be permitted that beard? When some far more beliveable shows up that isnt action geared to a 12 year old mind we nitpick and find fault with small details we consider ourselves expert on. Give em a chance. Lou diamound phillips is half phillippino and probley doesnt have much more indian blood than me either! I like him, but why doesnt some indians protest? Many here could use the acting job! At least they could have used a older winchester 94 instead of that newer one. I did like the 1911 though. My style guy. He doesnt carry a cell phone or take calls on the radio. That woman deputy calling the sheriff out saying a "dead body" and it was a sheep sure was lucky they found a "real live" dead body with it! She would have been in deep bandini with any supervisor I ever knew! Theresa usualy tells me to chill, its entertainment!

The main character in Longmire is a CLEO, he drinks, used to be married, has a loyal female deputy, makes haste slowly, is being challenged by somebody else for his job, and uses classic firearms instead of wondernines and semiauto rifles.

Hm, Kinda like a western Jesse Stone. Main differences are that Tom Selleck knows his guns, and has a great companion dog in the Jesse Stone series. You won't catch any firearms mishandling or misinformation, either.

I watched it; it got off to a sputtering start, but I'll give it a chance. They need to get a better firearms adviser and not try to stereotype gun dealers as bad guys...

It is only TV, and the plot did have to be solved in an hour. It will be interesting to see how far they carry the conflict between the County Sheriff office and the tribal police without being labeled politically incorrect. It certainly was more interesting than watching folks sing poorly, dance or fight in some reality show, or watch a slanted news show. If nothing else the scenery was pretty good!
