looking for handgun racks

This older photo of the inside of my safe will show a six-gun rack on a shelf and a door-mounted storage system. Both work well for me. I keep the revolvers I shoot frequently on the rack and the rest in the door system. The rack was purchased at MidwayUSA.com.

I bought a bunch of these 3 pistol modular racks Hyskore.com » #30002 Modular Pistol Rack and combined them using 3 long threaded rods I picked up at Lowes. Couldn't have been easier, and gave me tons of vertical storage. Then I used these hangers Handgun Hangers-pistol, handgun rack to basically double my available handgun space. I also built a little shelf that runs the width of the safe that sits behind the modular rack. I keep a couple of pocket pistols and a conversion kit or two on it. If you look closely, you can see that I actually removed a piece from the modular set so that I could get more spaces. I can't recommend this set up enough. If I was to do it differently, I would have bought a bigger safe to begin with. And yes, that shelf is beginning to sag a bit, guess it's time to build a brace.

I use plate racks from Wal-Mart. Plastic coated heavy wire, hold 8 handguns each, only about $2.00 each, & work great!

I drilled holes in a 2x4 and put clear 1/4 inch tubing over the dowells into them two inches apart. Slide the pistols and revos between the dowells and it hold them upright. Best part is you can make it fit any size you have available. Cost me about 5 bucks

Can you post some pictures of this set-up?

I'm cheaper yet. Used plate racks cost $.50 at the Thrift Store and work well for me. They come in different sizes.

I use "Lock Down" handgun racks from Amazon that hold six, Amazon.com: LockDown Handgun Rack: Sports & Outdoors and I think you can buy some that hold four. About $20 each. Very strong and coated, so guns wont get marred. Also strong enough you can pick the rack and guns up and move it.

For the door of my safe, I bought pegboard from the hardware store, replaced the screws that hold the inside pane of the door with longer ones and just used the factory holes to hang it. Then I bought 18 power drill holders that fit the pegboard to hang on it. Works great. I used the rest of the pegboard to hang moonclips, etc.

on the shelf I use Kwik Draw wire holders. They are inexpensive, you can bend the wire to accomodate different size pistols. I am very happy with them.

I liked the safe, but the storage inside was really poor.

I started out with this, the vertical part of the rack will fold foward when the pistols are removed (hinged), there is room behind this area to store magazines or even some snubbies. You can see a hinge just above the yellow rubber ducky.

Finished.

Same here, and it really does work great. I added a little length to the legs with some hollow plastic pieces I had laying round. They revolvers lay in it upside down and the autos right side up. Use until the plastic coating wears off (fifty years?) and buy a new one. And the price is just right.

Rackems.com.....coated wire, stackable and come in a variety of sizes, holds autos as well as revolvers. Very reasonably priced and I buy them at Fleet Farm or they ship for a reasonable fee.

Manaboutracks.com works for me. I like them. But I also have some Walmart wire racks too.

I'm gonna have to check out those hangers Gdogs...thanks

Custom made - I have 3 in my safe. Got the ones with storage under the rack. Perfect for magazines, speed loaders, grips, etc.
