I have looked everywhere online for small pistol primers. Any recommendations where to find 100 - 1000 in stock?

Thanks for the help!

You have to check sites like Brownells, Mdwayusa, Natchez and the other big suppliers several times a day 7 days ( and nights )a week. You can't rely on their notification process. Recently I've purchased 1000 small rifle and 2000 small pistol magnum match primers. You've also got to be willing to pay $78-98/1000 plus Hasmat and shipping depending on what they are.

A small shop near me has or had primers for $25/100. He's not been selling any as far as I know.

Just keep checking multiple times a day and into the night. The ones I found appeared on a Sunday night. Same deal with powder.

I normally use only CCI-500 small pistol primers in .38 Special. I recently tried CCI-550 magnum pistol primers and CCI-400 small rifle primers in with my standard .38 Special (Bullseye powder) cast bullet load in my much-fired but unmolested Model 14. Very little difference in muzzle velocity and no failures to fire. I'd call them all interchangeable, at least with the one load.

I've been doing the same thing and found no difference. I had one failure to fire with a small rifle primer which ignited on the 2nd try. The revolver I was shooting has inconsistent primer strikes with all primers so I blame it on the gun.

For the most part have to agree with this. Other thing, if you are forced to buy online and pay the bonus fees since nothing is available locally, wake up early and check first thing in the morning before they sell out.

If you are forced down this path, take a quick look at what powders are in stock and order what you could use to make the HazMat bonus spread out a little more (although I have to admit to having 2# of 3N38 that I still have not figure out what I'm going to do with since it was the only thing in stock that I could have possibly used and added to an order.)

Tu_S,
You can use that 3N38 to load the 9mm, 40 S&W or the 10mm from what I've read.

Try Cabelas or Bass Pro. They have stock of either small pistol, small rifle or small magnum pistol. I've used all three and they work. Cabella and Bass Pro allow purchase of 1-brick per purchase so bring your friends and family.

Try local Gun shops , brick and stick type ... I dropped by a local shop and they had a sale on Federal Primers and a shipment of Western / Accurate Arms powders . I bought 2k primers and a container of Acc #5 and Acc #2 ...just because it was there .
There are still 5 gunshops in my area and if I drive 90 mins to the New Orleans - Metaire area there are another 5-6 more Gun and reloading shops . Sometimes a local dealer will surprise you .
Remember on the net you pay shipping + Haz-Mat fees ... I would just as soon support my local dealer .

I've had luck finding SRP at Brownells. At least they let you buy 2000. I use SRP in place of SPP all the time. I also snagged some Federal SRP Match at Brownells. I'm not going to fuss about an extra ten bucks. And yes, you should be checking their site a couple times a day. I lost some when I got up from my computer to go get my credit card.

Found some Unis Ginex SPP online.
$575 for 5,000 with free shipping and Hazmat.
Sill trying to decide to buy or not.

wyo-man

Gotta check daily. Hazmat stinks, but, gotta pay to play.

I don't see how after two years, this is still a thing.

I guess some folks are blasting through it somewhere, I've not seen a mag dump in a very very long time.
