Loss of paint on 22A slide Face

Just got through cleaing a 22A and noticed some power residue on the face of the slide. After a bit of rubing with a nylon brush and Hoppes Elite I am down to the bare metal.

Is this normal? Or, a potential problem?

Total rounds fired is probably 150 or so. This is the 2nd cleaning.

I too have a couple of small paint chips on my 22A 7" but after ten years and something north of 15,000 rounds through it I can't complain. It is still one fun, cheap to shoot, eats anything, tack driving pistol. Does anyone have a suggestion as how to best touch up these minor blemishes?

I had the breech side of my 22A barrel change to what looks like bare metal the first time I cleaned it. It's not an exposed area so I'm not that concerned but am now curious what other people have to say. I'm gonna take another look at it when I get home tonight and see again for sure but it was definitely not black or the same color as everything else, I know that. I'll take a look at the slide too.

Mine also is losing paint on the right side of the slide.

Okay, got home from work and took a good look. Both the breech side of the barrel and front face of the slide clearly show the underlying metal (grey) but it's kinda mottled looking like it used to be all black. I don't know if it started this way from the beginning or if it changed with the first cleaning, I wasn't paying attention at the time. It looks harmless though as this is all internal, the outside surfaces of the gun are doing just fine. Personally I don't think it's anything to worry about (my 22A-1 is just a few months old by the way).

This looks sort of like mine. The barell however is not in the shae of that in the photo. Apparently something acceptable. Again, thanks
