lost a buddy this weekend...

I have lost human family and I have lost animal family; so also with human friends and their animal family, whom I considered my animal friends. I still choke up when I think about my neighbor's old border collie. That dog was smarter and more capable of moral action than half the kids in the neighborhood, not to mention some of their parents. Dogs like that are proof that the universe is capable of greater kindness and generosity than we often believe.

I feel your loss. You will never get over it, but you will be able to deal with it.

What a darned shame. I'd have a hard time speaking to or being around those responsible letting him get out.

Oh, so sorry for your loss.

My aussie ran off the other day when our front door apparently blew open while we were working. My girlfriend and I were nervous wrecks. Luckily a caring passerby found her standing in the middle of a busy road and took her to the shelter. I don't even want to think about the other possible outcomes.

Deepest condolences.

In 61 years my little Gomer is the best companion I have ever had. My wife claims I treat him better than I ever did any of our 4 kids. And she's right, I do. Not looking forward to the day I loose him. Just remember happines can be found in a puppy's eyes. The love in a puppy's eye will remove the tears from your eye.

There is no good way to lose a pet, but he was way too young, and the circumstances sound tragic. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. If it is any comfort at all, there are a lot of us here who have known the feeling, and in some small way, share your grief.
