After working around garage and taking load of “ stuff” to storage went to range. Fired couple .22’s first then new Mdl 10 that broke hammer. Then loaded 25-2 and fired this at 50’, not bad at all and may be better than what I can do with my match 1911A 1. Most accurate were my 201 Keith Type “ semi wadcutters” with Unique, others were full jacketed Match ammo. Most likely working before shooting is not good idea?
25-2 is about 69 dated and came with target everything. Previous owner was a clod, clutz and unmentionable as he crimped the ejector rod housing to the pin as he could not figure out it was Left Hand threads!!!! New ejector rod housing, inspection, reassembly and this is what I get, Love it!!!!

I also have a 25-2, but seldom if ever shoot it. I got it about 5 years ago with wooden case and estimate it's in 95% or better. Will probably sell it in the near future so someone can truly appreciate it. Glad to see you shoot yours.

Good shooting.

With my first 1911 build my norinco platform I installed a surplus $59 USGI barrel with a nm barrel bushing. I fitted the bushing for 100% lockup. She shoots cloverleafs and clusters at 25 yds. I didn’t touch the frame rails. My point is the accuracy of the 1911 is a national match barrel bushing away. I never thought my first build would be that accurate using cheap new parts.

My 25-2 came from a SWF member here, and will always remember the gun came well before my check could have arrived to his address.

It's an older 6.5" model and I've often joked that it's almost no fun to shoot it's so accurate. It loves everything from hardball to LSWC's.
Great revolvers.

Went to St. Augustine to see old friend, will post pic next week when back home. Still partial to 1911’s as fired them for so many years, old habits hard to break, lol. Thanks for comments.

My 25-2 was a bit of a scatter gun when I first got it. Discovered the cylinder throats measured .455, and I was sizing my LSWC to .452. Once I started sizing correctly the pattern got way smaller.

Here he is with his baby sister:

I took my 80's made 25-2 out of the safe that I had not shot for years and have been shooting it for about six months on its own- very fun revolver. Got a EPS tanker holster for it and put some Elk horn grips on it. Maybe put 600 rounds through it mixed .45 ACP and .45 GAP. Shoots a lot better than I can hold.

Mine is a six inch and the more I use it the more I like it. Seems to me it makes a good general purpose revolver, and with 45 super my thinking is it would be good for anything in north America except Griz and Elk.

I wish it had a ramped front sight post instead of the target post but thats the only thing I would change.

I'd like to hear more about the model 10 broke. krs/kenny

10-7 2” firing factory fmj, 5 rounds and hammer pin broke, fell into action jamming action. First time firing, been sitting in safe for few years. Not happy at all. Thanks to members found replacement hammer and another to install. Recovering from thumb surgery , dont want to push recovery or would fix it myself.

The Model 25-2 is a Favorite of Mine!

I just got my 1980 vintage 25-2 in January of this year. It was an even grand; the seller would not budge.

I was happy to pay it and now, very happy to have it.

My 86 year old dad & I took it the range the day after I bought it... good times!

One of my best days at the range was watching the center of the target fall out and flutter away. A half box of Remington factory load 45 Colt LRN I believe 255 grain.

My 25-2 is like yours - very accurate with either the .45 ACP cylinder or the 45 Colt cylinder installed.

Nowdays the indoor ranges all demand either fully jacketed or powder coated bullets so all of my shooting is done with handloads.
