So I have a 4006 TSW, not fond of the sights. I see LPA offers two different sights listed for 3rd gen smiths.
TPU91SW07
LPA Ghilardi

TR66SW07
LPA Ghilardi

They are two very different looking sights so what is the difference? Do they fit different models within the 3rd gen series or is it a looks preference?

In my research, the 4006 shares the same Novak "style" low mount cut with the SW1911. If that is true, then I should be able to use SW1911 rear sights correct?

Any other sight options out there? I have seen the offerings from Novak.

Thanks...Eric

LPA sights on 3rd Gens

So I have a 4006 TSW, not fond of the sights. I see LPA offers two different sights listed for 3rd gen smiths... TPU91SW07 & TR66SW07

According to their brochure the TR series is:

"New TRT more solid and strong.
New design with external screws.
Is tested for more than 50000 shoots.
Features:
• adjustable rear sight for professional shooters
• clean and sharp profile
• strong and compact body
• no milling necessary "

The TR66 series is for the 9mm & .40 3rd Gens
The TR68 series is for the .45 3rd Gens

I have no experience with this series.

I've used the other series for the 3rd Gens to replace Novak FXDs (fixed existing dovetail):
---------------------------------------------------
The TPU91SW series is for the 9mm & .40 (medium frame) 3rd Gens
The TPU10WE series is for the 10mm & .45 (& large frame .40) 3rd Gens

They are well regulated to the factory front sights.

I'm using the TPU91SW sights as shown by Bluedot on a couple of my guns. These work with the original front sight, fit .40 and 9MM slides, replacing the Novak sight. I'm not familiar with the TRT series, that are apparently new and improved. The TRT series looks like it might be too high for the stock factory front sight?

The TPU line is the cheapest and smallest line from LPA. For the S&W that is the TPU91SW07.
That fit's without any modification to the slide.

The SPR is the middle line from LPA. For the S&W 3gen that is the TR66SW07.
You need to mill a bit off the slide in front of the sight. The sight blade is a bit larger.

The TRT is the largest pistol sight from LPA. It's about the same as the Bo-Mar sight.
But does not fit the S&W without milling a new dovetail.
