whats a fair price its about 50% on the bluing the smothe wood stocks are 50% no cracks or nicks the gun is sold and i shot is the bottom of the brazie stamp is wore but the 1937 is good the sil num showes it was in the 1938 shipment im lookin at it as a shooter whats a fair price ive been lookin i wondered what you guys thought

The number $300 floated into my mind based on what you describe, but remember there is no intrinsic value for any gun. There's only the price someone is willing to pay for something that he kind of wants.
It's hard to find an old S&W shooter in any caliber for less than $300 these days. If you want a .45 ACP shooter, and if this one is in sound mechanical shape, that's probably a good price. There are counties and states where you might find one for a few bucks less, and plenty of states (mine, for example) where the asking price could be a good bit higher.

Around here, you would not get it for less than $400. Most likely asking price would be closer to $500. Revolvers that shoot .45 caliber bullets have always been sought after, but their popularity seems to be skyrocketing of late.
