Need to know the OD diameter to buy one...

It's hard to tell what you are asking, but I think you are really asking about the thread diameter, as opposed to the barrel diameter, to figure out the correct thread protector. The thread is 1/2"x28 (OD of thread is 1/2").

I changed out my flash suppressor to a thread protector also. I found one on e-bay for 9.99 the specs on it were: "5.56 1/2" - 28 smooth barrel thread protector for standard barrel 5/8" long."

The seller was downrange2 and the service was excellent, the shipping was free. I put a couple of drops of purple loctite on the threads, and it works perfectly.

I'm sure with the above information you can chase it down on ebay.

Since no one gave you a definite answer, I finally remembered to measure mine. Standard barrel, not Performance Center, is .675" OD. As already posted, you need 1/2"-28 threads.
