I am a new 15-22 owner. I have only 600 or so rounds through it. I have never noticed how the rounds stagger or not. I have only loaded one at a time by hand and have never had a problem feeding.
That said, I just checked some mags loaded a week ago, they are not all staggered "correctly".
So, based on my "scientific" studies (read hand loading for correct staggering or not), staggering does not matter one i-o-ta!

As far as the clip vs. mag thing goes, some time ago, I read an article either in a gun magazine (hmmm, a clipping in a magazine??) or on their website that basically said that according to "old world" (going back to pre-WW1) terms and definitions, there is evidence that the two terms are interchangeable. This was by people that know and study guns, parts and history, more than most of us here.
No, I don't remember where it was that I read this, but it is true just the same. For me, I don't care if you say clip or mag, I know what you mean. It is not the same as confusing the two very different parts called extractor and ejector. They perform two very different jobs. Clips and mags both hold and/or "prepare" rounds to be fired.
To me they are the same when used in the context of loading rounds to be fired.

I put my loaded clip in the gun.
I put my loaded mag in the gun.
Tell me how that is different without knowing what "the gun" is?
But you still know what it means, don't you?

Some will share your opinion, some will not. It's a debate that will never be won. But it's a subject that's been beaten to death, than kicked again. Not trying to be disrespectful in any way, but let's not bring the dispute back, at least not on this thread of a completely different subject.

My post was really meant to speak to the mag loader operation question. But as for the very last part of my post goes...truth just the same.

No disrespect taken.

i also agree that stagger don't matter ,, but doesn't mean that its not properly loaded!,, all the tests Ive done with unstaggered cartridges in the magazine show no miss feeds ,most of my jams occur from fouled chamber problems, i also found good cleaning and a Teflon lube helps greatly. but I'm going to leave the final test and observations to you guys, Ive tested this thing to death,,1000's of round and loaded my magazine hundreds of times with this and all seems to be fine,IE fast/slow/bumping one at a time to simulate hand loading, etc, etc, some times there perfect and some times not,but nothing is fool proof or flawless! i just know from my testing i have had no problems? time will tell ounce its out and under the public microscope,, and all the tips and tricks begin to build.

hey i got a mission for everyone to help me with,,
like i said i want to adapt this to other magazines,
so i would like to make a list of magazines with load assist button/tabs
of any small cartridge/calibers IE .22 .25 9MM .38 .40 etc!
but the magazine must have load assist button to work with this loader.

i do not want my respnce to your question to sound stand offish or offending im simply explaining the reason i did not do it that way
so please do not take it thatway:)

Hell no! It is your product and you know what you are able to do and what not :) As a community I think we should try helping you to make the best product possible !
It is very interesting to see the development of it

So keep us updated and continue the good work!

That's all I can think of at the moment too. Some people might use a speed loader for 10 round mags, but I wouldn't.

Walther P22
Ruger rimfire pistols

I can load any of my 10-16 round pistol mags by hand faster that the time it takes to set up and use any speed loader except my UpLulu on 9mm and .40 S&W. Those take me about three rounds every two seconds.

I bought the McFadden Ultimate Clip Loader for my Mark III and I love it and my fingers love it even more. Loads my 10 round magazines in seconds.

My Sig Mosquito has got an assist, but I agree that 8 rds would be easier to do by hand. That being said, I'd probably still buy the adapter for it too

Then you must not be a competition shooter. Takes about 1.5 seconds to load a Ruger or Browning mag with a McFadden UCL. When you are shooting Steel Challenge or something similar you don't have that much time to reload since you are also painting targets between shooters and doing other match related activities even when you are just a shooter.

"ucl"? define please
That's the McFadded Ultimate Clip Loader (UCL). See my link below.

like i said i want to adapt this to other magazines,

Ruger Mark II/III, 22/45, Browning Buckmark. The McFadden loader mentioned is supposed to work for all these, but I've tried it with the Buckmark mags and it's less than impressive. I think your design would work much better. Mcfadden Machine Company Incorporated Clip Loader

Also the GSG 1911-22 and Sig Sauer 1911-22 (same gun/mags) don't have a load assist, but there is a load assist button available for purchase. If your loader was available with the assist button it might be nice. JoeBob's GSG/SIG 1911 22LR Loader Assist Button

And it looks like the GSG-5 and HK MP5-22 magazines also have a load assist built in, at least from the pictures I've seen.

I use to shoot a few bulk boxes a day through my 10/22 with 25 round mags. I only have three TI25 mags for it, so there was a lot of reloading. Never once did my thumbs get fatigued. I thought that was just something we told ourselves so we could buy more gadgets.

MY XD45 was different. I had AGP extensions on those mags and the last few rounds were a PITA. The SA loader that came with the pistol helped a lot.

Nope. I'm a gopher slayer.
