Well to my surprise i got my clock cleaned by my son-in-law. He just installed his cmmg conversion kit on his m&p 15t, we tried it out for function and accuracy. It functioned perfectly with all the ammo we tried, then we shot it for accuracy and i was truly surprised. then we got into a friendly competition and started shooting at a medium size bowling pin target. we shot 15 round strings and the first to go out of the pin lost. well i lost first. the only way i could compete was to install my scope and then we were about even steven. I must say the conversion kit was quite inpressive, oh well its hard to beat those young eyes and steadyness.pghrich

Did he have a scope on his gun?
What was the range of the targets?
Is your barrel tight?
Did you guys change guns so you could see if you did the same with his?
Lots of factors going on there.
But yes If I already had a ar15 .223 I would just buy that kit for mine and not get the m&p 1522.
But since I don't yet have a ar15 .223 and the M&P 1522 is cheaper, I think its a much better choice (for me anyway).;)

no scope
25 meters
yes he shot mine better than me
I too only have a 15-22, but i would still get both

not i, after shooting the m&p 15t i am convinced that s&w has a great ar platform second to none in my opinion.

well i own a couple of ars and a 15-22.. the thought of shooting dirty 22 ammo threw my ars just bothers me:rolleyes:

Brett,

DI or Piston? I'd think piston setups wouldn't be as bad as DI as far as cleaning after wards.

I agree!! :D Plus if I were to get one that is what it would be! I believe they will all be piston drive soon! ;)

Im thinking Sig 556 ;)

honestly guys , it really wasnt that bad to clean , he said he ran the snake down the barrel a few times. cleaning the bolt was a snap. i really cant comment on any long term effects but i really did'nt see any problems.
