(Please forgive me if there is already a thread for this, didnt find one after extensive searching.)

2 weeks ago, I started my search for a M&P 15 sport after high praise from an experienced friend. I found the sport for $630 shipped on gunbroker at the time, but decided to hold off to see if the price would drop for black friday/cyber monday. As many of you know, this was a horrible decision on my part because they have almost become extinct since then. If you can even find a standard (non-ca,ct, etc... compliant) sport, the seller is asking at least $700+shipping. Therefore, I was hoping that other m&p 15 sport fans/seekers might find interest in posting in this thread to keep up with who currently has the sport in stock, and how much the seller is asking.

Post up: Who has the sport in stock? How much?

I study gun-deals and slickguns daily, and there is a deal at sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore on a sport for $699 shipped... but that is more than I am wanting to spend at the moment. I was hoping to spend around $600 on an entry AR so that I can also afford to start a small ammo cache for it as well. However, the recent price jump in the 223 and the m&p15 sport have pushed me closer to doing something like this, but with a 5.45 upper: http://www.slickguns.com/product/build-affordable-ar-15-less-485

My local shops are about $650ish. They are ban state models unfortunately.

I got mine last August locally for $599. Wasn't even looking for one. Walked in, saw one on the table and thought it was a good deal.

Local shoot straight stores in fl have them for 649 as of last week. Not sure they still have stock but I bought one...

Mind posting the names of those stores? Are they ban state versions?

Just looked $635 at slick guns but also out of stock. Right now if I were looking again I'd pull the trigger on anything $650 or less....

.....because we all know soon you'll be looking at $600 - $1200 optics. lol

If you live anywhere near NJ check out Cheyenne Outfitters. They had a sale that ended on Nov. 25. Bought my Sport for $625. They also had the M&P 15-22 for $420.

You should have grabbed it an ran,esp on the Sport model. It has gotten (again) to the point of,you snoose you loose if trying to chase a better deal. Since the elections, everything has gone nuts again.

Not to mention ammo! Try to find some 69 gr bthp ammo for less than blood from your firstborn child!!

I bought my Sport last May. I had been looking since January or so.

I just happened to stumble across it at a new LGS. He only had one.

If you come across one, better grab it. Don't snooze and loose to save $50 or so. Just my .02.

I had several very good retailers check every vendor database in the US and none of them had any in stock... After calling many many, many stores (roughly 30-40 all over the US) I only found 2 or 3 total that had ANY in stock.

I called every single Shoot-straight store and only the west palm beach store had any 15 sports, but they had 19 in stock!!! They said they sat on a bunch of them for their 33rd anniversary a couple weeks ago, and the 19 were left over. However, they wanted to charge me 650+50 to ship the first one, and 25 to ship each additional...

I only found 2 people on gun broker that were selling non-ban 15 sport's, both for around $700+shipping. I googled the sellers and called them. One didnt answer, but I ended up (finally) working a deal with Smitty's guns in Wisconsin for $1300 shipped for 2 -15 sport's (a friend wanted one as well). Dennis at Smitty's seemed like a good guy, though he is a bit old school and they refused to accept any form of electronic payment (regions personal pay, etc...) so I ended up having to snail mail him a check to avoid the 3% he wanted to charge for a credit card payment... Now I must wait 3-5 days for him to receive the check, 1-3 days to deposit and clear, then 3-5 days for shipping... The world could end before I get my M&P15 Sport :(

Smitty's had 5 when I called on tuesday so they might have 3 left. I will call tomorrow to confirm.

Do not worry, the world is not scheduled to end until 12/21/12. You should have your rifles by then, even if you get delayed. I would be buying mags and ammo now, though, because the end of times is a BYOB(bring your own baubles) event.

Lol yea but depending on how long it takes for my check to arrive and clear and how long it takes for the guy to get them shipped out, it could be too late!

I am now looking for deals on 223/556 rounds and building my accessories wishlist... This addiction is getting out of hand: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...UlpvNFU1Z2hTVmc&single=true&gid=0&output=html

I called and talked with Dennis@Smitty's today and he said that the remaining 3 sport's were sold the same day I placed my order.

In SoCal, Turners outdoorsman has them for $649. Also, AmmoBros has them for 649. A few had some Black Friday sales at 599, but then again, are you waking up at 2am to get in line to wait 5 hours to save $49??? Not to mention, the one sale that had them at 599 was limited to 5 units per store, and when I talked to a guy who works at the store, he said "Drove by there after dinner. Had 8-10 people in lawn chairs waiting at 10:30 pm. The 5 tickets for the Sports are good as gone, so sleep in!"

While $649 turns into around $720 when all the tax and paperwork is done, this is STILL not a terrible price to pay for a very good rifle. Yeah, there are better deals on bolt guns, but for an AR platform- this is about as good as it gets.

Kudos for having such a well laid out plan ad budget! If I may suggest one change, it would be to use a JP adjustable gas block. If you are replacing the gas block anyway to install the spectre length rail, Switching to a adjustable one now saves time. An adjustable gas block will allow you to reduce wear on your action by slowing down bolt velocity on full power loads, reliably shoot a wider variety of ammo, plus keep your rifile from being over gassed later from gas port erosion.
