M&P .22 Ammo Ejection Issues

If you chronograph Federal and Winchester shot from an M&P22, you'll find the shot to shot deviation at close to 100fps and the weaker ones will barely eject and not drive the slide back far enough to strip off a new round from the magazine. It then closes on an empty chamber. CCI Mini-Mags only have a deviation of around 30fps and have enough power to properly cycle the slide with every shot, that's why that's all I use.

I have a Sig 226 mk 25 with a .22 conversion I also have problems when I use low velocity ammo More failure to chamber than ejecting I put a drop of Hoppes gun oil in the small needle applicator on the ramp about every 15-20 rounds and it helps. Yesterday I fired 50 rounds of CCI standards with no problems. It is a fairly common problem with auto pistols and rifles

I purchased my S&W M&P 22 about a year and a half ago now. CCI mini mags are without a doubt the best performers in this gun! I've also had great luck with the Remington Golden Bullets in bulk 500+ packs. However, Federal of any kind and several other 50-count 'cheap' .22LR ammo just does not work well in this pistol. It's now on consignment at my LGS, even though I do like to shoot it on occasion.

I just purchased a .22LR Target Conversion Kit for my 9mm Sig Sauer P-938 Nightmare (EDC) and LOVE it. The jury is still out whether or not I'm going to keep the M&P .22 or go ahead and sell it. I have the full-size M&P 9mm with crimson trace grips and love that gun too, so it's nice to have a practice gun in that M&P model too.
