M&P .22 Any Thoughts?

Good training for when I shoot my 9mm Shield.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that way.

I recently bought a 22 compact and a 9mm Shield, as I can't afford to run hundreds of rounds of 9mm every time I go to the range. I figure there has to be at least some carryover in shooting the 22 as the guns are similar in a lot of ways. So I run a couple hundred through the 22 and then maybe one box through the Shield.

Since this thread specifically refers to the 22, I can only say that after a couple thousand rounds I've been very pleased with it. I was using CCI ammo and never had one glitch with it. I then tried 500 rounds of the cheap ($16) Armscor ammo and only had one failure to feed with it. For the price difference I can live with that on a plinker.

I bought the M&P 22 Compact primarily for plinking and as a suppressor host. However where it really earns its keep is for my offhand practice. I have an inexpensive left handed holster that works fine for the M&P 22C and it is great for getting in several hundred draws for offhand practice, both aimed one or two handed fire and practicing instinctive fire out to about 5-7 yards. Cheap practice to refresh muscle memory which diminishes rapidly. I don't think I've hand a single gun related failure, thru several thousand rounds.

I’ve been looking at them for the same reasons. Are all of them threaded?
The ads make it appear so. Maybe not all come with the thread adapter?
I’ll get one soon because I’m getting tired of looking.

Your conclusion is the correct one. They're all threaded, but not all come with the adapter.

I was shooting my 22c at an outdoor range today and the rear sight adjustment screw and spring went flying. No chance of finding those tiny parts on the ground.

My gun is barely a month old so I emailed Smith and Wesson hoping they will send me replacement parts. I'll let you know. I'll be using some loctite next time.

Hmmm, I thought that this issue was solved some time ago.
(losing the rear sight parts)

Smith & Wesson replied to my email this morning and said they will send me a new screw and spring at no charge. I'll update again when the parts arrive, but so far I'd say the customer service has been great.

I bought mine on 2-17-12, after a 50 rd box of mini mags to break it in I've never had a problem shooting hundreds of Winchester 555 or Xperts.
