M&P 22 not locking back on last round

Hey guys, I'm a long time lurker and have a few m&P's. My newest addition is the m&p22 in the 12 rd. I have about 2000 rounds threw the gun, and besides a new missfires (**** ammo) i have not had any problems. I recently started having a problem where the slid does not lock open on the last rd fired. (I only have one magazine, as I have been waiting on 5 more I orderd). Also the gun was cleaned very well along with the mag after this started happing and taken back to the range. If i put the empty mag in the gun and pull the slid back by hand it locks open, just during firing. Any info would be greatly appriciated.

With that many rounds the magazine notch for the slide stop could be worn out. Thatd be my guess.

Thanks, thats what i was thinking, guess i'll have to wait till the new mags come in to try one of them out and see what happens.

Make sure you are not pressing on the slide stop with your grip when shooting, preventing it from engaging. My son was doing that with his 9c and thought it was defective until I pointed it out.
