I have had mine about two years and love the way it shoots and feels in my hand. I mostly shoot 180gn mid range loads (my reloads). Never a FTF or FTE.

My son owns mine now but while I owned it I also found that it seemed to like the 180gr bullets best. During the time I owned it I put roughly 8000 rounds of 9mm and about 1000 rounds of .40 through it. Never an issue. Accuracy was more than acceptable. I did install the Apex sear and a heavier recoil spring (mostly to make it easier to find my brass).

Congrats on your new .40 FS. I don't own one yet, but am thinking about getting one to partner up with my Shield.

Seems to be questions one should ask BEFORE purchasing. :p

I actually just let go of my 40FS, but kept my 40 compact.

I never had any issues with the FS, but I was running the APEX FSS trigger kit. Accuracy was amazing with that trigger. I am no marksman by any stretch of the imagination, but I was shooting 2" groups at 10 yards with that trigger. No noticeable difference between 180gr and 165gr ammo out of my gun. Never gave me an issue as far as reliability was concerned in the 500 or so rounds I put through the barrel. All the same can be said for my M&P40c, which is why I kept that one, same level of accuracy and dependability in a gun that was small enough to easily carry.

Replacing my 40FS with a Glock 21 for target shooting, because 45acp and I didn't really like the low capacity of the M&P45.

x2!!!

i've had my 40FS since Dec. 2012 and love it more than ever!
i got a SL conversion barrel and some 9mm mags and have also shot 9mm out of it for almost as long.
no issues and i'm so glad i chose it for my first handgun.

just picked up a 357 Sig barrel for it and hope to get some ammo for that caliber too.
so for a total of about $700 invested, i have a gun that shoots 40 S&W, 9mm and 357 Sig and have all the mags too for all 3 calibers also in that price.

The fs M&P have been out long enough to be "mature" from a development standpoint - barrel changes, slide stop assy changes, significant improvements in the trigger. Given that the interweb is the venue of choice for issues and complaints, you'll find very little negative about the M&Ps. I'm very happy with mine, but I'm so new to handguns that I'm not sure I count: only 1300 rounds through my 40fs. Between my wife and I we do have 6 M&P, however.

I am putting an Apex DCAEK in my two 40fs. Not because it's going to improve my newbie accuracy, but to achieve the same feel in my CA and non-CA 40s.
