Just picked my personal weapon up today. Fullsize just like my dept. issue except for standard 3 dot sights,( no tritiums on my personal.) In 90 degree (100% humidity) heat I did the standard daytime drills for 3.7.10.15.and 25 yards. Verdict,,,27 out of 30 in the kill zone. That's 90%. Not bad (this is what I qualified 2 months ago for day and night drills) but I'm going to better this. The M&P is superb...It's just a real B---ch!!! shooting prone on the ground for a 51 yr. old overweight jailor... I'm going for 100% and by November for fall qualification,I'm gonna be there!!! CCI blaser 165 FMJ's today...Prone on the ground @ 25 yd.line...

A full-size M&P40; what's not to love! 90% ain't too shabby. You'll be at 100% before you know it.

Great gun! And, like the man said, your shooting rates a "Way to go" as well. You're on your way to that 100%!

(My shooting with my FS .40, on the other hand, went backwards on my first range trip. I'm working hard on grip and dry-firing to try to cure my "low left" recoil anticipation. I'm also hoping for some tips from the NRA Basic Pistol class I'm taking in about ten days. It's been about 35 years since I fired my 6" Model 19, and this is my first semi-automatic. The recoil is actually much softer than my .357 was, especially when firing Super Vel, so I don't understand why it's causing me to pull off target. I guess I just need to put several more boxes of ammo through it.)

Glad you like yours...in time, your gonna love it. They really are a great shooting gun...enjoy....I handle mine every day.

I picked up a M&P40 on a trade yesterday.

I have a M&PC, and I love it. I hope I will be as happy with the Full Size M&P.

I will be going to the range this week to try it out.

I plan on getting the 9mm, and .357 barrels for it. I have all three barrels for my Compact version, and they work great.

Does anyone have any thoughts on removing the thumb safety?

Can you take a .40 and just swap barrels (and maybe mags) and run 9mm in it? I know the .357 sig is just a barrel swap.

Yes you can. You don't have to use 9mm mags, but sometimes the last round won't load using the .40/.357 mags for 9mm.

I also use the 9mm barrel in my .357 Sig without any problems.

Congrats brotha, love my full size .40, a good next purchase for you would be a little brother, either 40c or 40 shield, I love all 3 of my .40s, but the one I cannot live without is my 40c!
