Does anyone know of parts for sale to safely shoot .45 Super in the M&P? Usually you need a heavier recoil spring and maybe a shock buffer.

I have been shooting 45 Super for close to two decades now. The M&P would not be one of the firearms that pops into my mind as a candidate for conversion. Personally, I do not have experience with the M&P45 and that may be the reason. Also the USP family makes such a good platform for the 45 Super cartridge that I have not gone looking for another polymer solution.

Have you checked to see if the chamber is fully supported? If not you will need a new barrel as well.

I am sure that you already know to contact Wolff for springs.

The biggest part I'm not sure of is the slide mass of the M&P if it's enough. The Glock slide isn't supposed to be used with full power .45 Super since it isn't hefty enough. No I've not checked the chamber yet either but then I haven't contacted Wolff yet about springs. I figured there would be a kit available by now but couldn't Google anything up. Right now I'm just thinking if the slide and frame can take the .357 Sig and .40 SW then they may be able to take the .45 Super as well.

As a 1911 guy I am very open to the 45 Super. Never even occurred to me to try to do it in a M&P.

Tagging to follow this thread as well.
