My question is that my department is putting together a TAC team and the gun selection in down to the top three listed above. We currently use gen 3 Glocks. I have smaller then average hands. I have been able to manipulate the glock for every day carry and own one myself. I love the M&P 40 in my hand with the smaller strap. I was wondering is the grip the same size in the 40 as the 45 the 45felt wider but the spec sheet says there bot 1.2 wide. Any help thanks

The 45 grip is slightly larger than the 9/40's but smaller than a Glock 21.
You realy need to put one in your hand that has a small grip insert installed. My M&P 45FS and C are more consistantly accurate than the M&P9 or 40 I had.

The M&P45 grip feels slightly larger than the M&P9/40, but not much larger. Comparing any M&P to the Glock 21 is like comparing a Browning Hi-Power to a 4x4 fence post. And in contrast to TOF, all of my M&P's are tack drivers. If I was charged with making the decision, I would go with the M&P 45 mid size.

I didn't mean to imply my other M&P's were not accurate just that the 45's are the best yielding single hole, not ragged hole groups, from time to time. I was amazed and very pleased each time it has happened. From sand bags of course, I can't hold near good enough free hand.
