I'll help you relieve your guilt. You can send the extras my way. Then you can feel much better.

I have the 4" .45, it is a sweet shooter....very comfortable and controllable to shoot, much more so than other 40 cals I own. I'm not very big so it is a little large and heavy for me to CC so I don't.

After debating for weeks over weather to get a M&P 40 or 45. I decided to go 45 but when I went to get it all they had was 40's and they had no idea when some 45s would come in. Well since I had my heart set on a 45 I considered a 1911 but it was more than I wanted to spend so I walked with this .45. It's not a S&W but the guy at PSA talked it up and I liked that I could be concealed.

Can't wait to shoot it. Hope I don't regret it.

The XD's are nice shooters for me. Lookin at an m, but been splurging on m&p's lately. The non-glock grip angle is where it sold me. Congrats on the new addition. .45's will come again, and at least you've got ammo for it.

Ended up getting the 45c. Wow, this thing carries like a dream! Going to the range this afternoon to put some down range. I'll have a range report later. I definitely need a trigger job on this one though. It's the stiff 9 lbs MA trigger. We'll see how it does though!

I guess that depends on your mode of dress. I have the 4.25" .45ACP and I have no trouble concealing it.

This is not directed at the original poster so much as it is at anyone who does not carry a "real gun."

I agree with Rastoff. The sooner people stop whining about being unable to carry and conceal a real gun, the better off we will all be.

Since 1933, the FBI has issued handguns for concealment that are essentially full size duty weapons. They were Colt or S&W medium frame revolvers with 4 inch barrels and now Glock 23s.

If these FBI people can carry full size guns with which you can actually shoot and make a shot with a real caliber that will stop a fight, then you can too. And here is how you do it.

First, get a real belt designed for gun carry that fits your pants loops.

Then, if you wear a cover garment, you can conceal anything in either an IWB or an OWB holster like Paul Giannaula makes at PJ Holster or like Ken Null makes down in Resaca, Georgia. They are both great to deal with, by the way.

If you don't have a cover garment, get one of the belly bands or some form of holster that allows you to tuck in your shirt - preferably one that does not have visible hardware. Stay away from these "tuckable" holsters unless, of course, you want the whole world to know you are carrying by the belt clips on that type of holster.

Then, start buying your clothes to fit the added size of carrying a gun. If you don't buy your clothes to fit, then you are not serious and obviously do not have plans to carry all the time. Carry is inconvenient and if you do not want to be inconvenienced, then don't worry about a carry gun. Get a bedside gun and leave it there.

Ken Hackathorn happened to be standing next to me at the display of a major manufacturer when they introduced a carbon copy of the Colt Pocket Lite .380 ACP. They actually acted like it was their original design, but that is another story. I took the opportunity to ask what he thought of it, and he said, "it looks like a gun for someone who really doesn't need a gun."

Thus, carry a real gun - a fight stopping gun - in a fight stopping caliber. You will be glad you did.

Just a thought - but a thought that may save your life. :)

I wear this belt every day: (click pic)

It's inexpensive, about $25, and the best carry belt I've used. It has a polymer insert sewn into the belt. This makes it very stiff which helps carry the weight of the gun.

I've had a few leather belts. They are great, but all of them weaken over time. This one has stayed stiff since the day I got it. It's not fancy, but it works. Function over form for me.

5.11 makes a steel reinforced belt for everyday wear...works very well....or...check with the "beltman" he makes great stuff
