I've taken the M&P .45 about as far as I'm going to go at this point. It shoots very good and fits the hands great.

I have put my own trigger job to it, polished the feed ramp and chamber inside and out. Stipple work all around. Removed the beaver tail and did some paint fill on it. In 1k plus rounds in just over a month it has never had a operation problem. While I have never been a fan of stippling. This pistol seems to beg for it and accepts it very well. The trigger work is very straight forward. A small bit of work pay's off big time. The pistol has also been through many drop and throw test. It has never released the strike be it loaded or unloaded. And yes the drop test were done in a very safe place. A large pit in the middle of nowhere when loaded.

I really like this pistol. :)

Is there some sort of a tutorial or procedure on the web somewhere for doing that paint fill-in work? That looks pretty cool.

I am not a fan of stippling but, I really like that pattern. It looks like you started from a central point and "drew" lines from there. Care to elaborate on your method?

Thanks

*Sigh*...I hate to say it, but to be honest, thats the worst looking stippling job I've seen.

It just looks like someone got totally carried away with the stippling craze and didn't know when to quit and as a result ruined a perfectly good pistol.

Excessive Stipple FAIL.

I kinda like how the stippling comes from a central point, makes it look like a sun burst of some sorts.

On board with the others in aspect to how the stippling, and fill painting was done. Teach us!!!

It's all really very simple.

Stippling is a cake walk. All you need is a 30 to what ever watt pencil soldering iron and tips. I Take a file to a tip and make a knife tip with a file something like this /\. It looks like a #2 flat head screw driver. I also have the edge beveled a tad to help with working angle. or I use a fine pointed tip. Then start melting plastic. There are videos on the net. I started doing this kind of stuff when I was a kid. I would weld diff. parts of model car's and airplanes together and finish them out. Thus making my own creations.

As for the paint fill. Again it's been something I've done for years. Be it marking valves or highlighting tools, you name it. On the M&P I had a bottle of old Ford frost white touch up paint left over from one of the many cars the wife as used up. I put enough paint on to fill the imprint. Then took a soft smooth cloth,, like a old t-shirt soaked with acetone and wiped it clean. Let the first time around set for 20 mins or so then do it again. I could have used Laq. thinner or min. spirits for the job. The wifes nail junk was to close to past up. If your not sure of the thinner and or the finish, Check into it!!!! There are vid's on paint fill on the net. One can also use crayon's or china pencils.

If this was any other weapon I would hate it, BUT the work you done to it does go very well with the M&P platform. I wonder how long the paint will stay like that? Does it resist solvents very well and what kind of paint did you use?

I used Ford auto touch up paint I had left over from a car the wife wrecked. I could have used any paint my wife had in her nail kit or any paint I wanted be it Laq. Enamel, Water base base coat / clear coat. It's only fill work. Heck you can test with crayons.

All basic one part or two part paint will hang. Firearm cleaning solvents are not very acidic. And really whimpy in the chem world.

This is a war pistol. It has proven to me that it wants to be modded for me. Yeah it has some bling. But over all ,,, it's all function. I am not a stipple fan. While I have put functioning stipple on other folks firearms. I have not done my own until FS .45 M&P came into my life. And one bad draw as a car gun when I had some BLOODS bum rushing me in LR/AR because of the worthless beaver tail and my lack of for thought. Lead to the pistol you see.

These are targets out of the box, new. WW ammo.

As of late I have been shooting steel and working on my own ammo. And I compare all to my CZ-52 conblock bulls eye shooter. :)

This pistol took on this upgrade as a direct result of a bad car draw on my part cause you flying a LEO badge did not get the bloods off the street that wanted to rob me in LR/AR. Nor has any of your type ever recovered one thing stolen from me or caught anybody that has ever done so. Nor has your buddy's in arms ever caught the car jackers that hit my baby sister in OKC. The gang land shooting's, home invasions, drug perps. Like the war on drugs is worth while. And robbers and rape folks go on while you do next to nothing.

You dont like my HD/CR weapon. I don't think much of the job your doing either. Counting on you is like doing acid and trying to understand the Wizard of OZ.

Ok Blastfact. You got me. You've seen deep into my secret Identity. I am in fact the law enforcement official who was most responsible for both Waco and Ruby Ridge.

I told Koresh that stipple job on that Glock 21 looked like ass and the next thing I knew he was burning the compound down and shooting his wives and followers in the back of the head.
