hi! i am new to the forum. i am a chaplain for a rural sheriff dept and retired police officer. as such i am allowed to carry concealed when i do ride-alongs. currently, i carry an m&p 9c in a 5.11 thumb-drive holster inside a quick access pouch on my duty belt.

i am thinking of mounting a weapon light, either a tlr-3 or a microc 90. so i am looking for a holster that would take the 9c and a weapon light and still have a retention level II.

i have looked at several kydex holsters and the galco halo, but none are quite what i am looking for. blackhawk serpa only takes their light.

any suggestions?

thanks in advance. george t

Welcome aboard, George.

Unfortunately, I leave the weapon light in the bedside table and carry a Streamlight when I leave the house.

Hi, I just bought a crimson trace rail light and it works/fits great. As far as a holster your going to have to have it custom made to include the light.

Peace!

looks like a custom holster is what i may have to do. making inquiries now with a few makers.
if any has any other suggestions, most welcome.

Take a look at x-concealment. They make a kydex holster for that gun with the tlr-3 light. Their turn-around time is quick and the product is top notch. I have two, myself (one specifically for my 9c and one that fits my 9c and 40FS). You mentioned retention; this will be your problem. Although the kydex holster doesn't have classic "levels of retention", the gun positively "locks" into the holster. When I got my first one, I thought the retention was too much. I've since gotten acclimated to it. Anyway, take a look at them. They can be found on their website and ebay. Highly recommended.
