I recall reading in earlier posts that there was an accuracy problem with the full sized M&P pistols in 9MM. Does anyone know if this claim is true or if the problem was corrected in newer manufactured guns? Thanks.

No, I think it was before that, but don't quote me on that. As with all things, the accuracy issue was only a hand full of guns. S&W updated the twist rate on the barrel and it has not been mentioned since. Shoot the gun from a rest. If you have random patterns call S&W. I'm sure they'd fix it even if you're not the first owner.Rastoff,
Was the fix in 2012? My new Pro is a Dec. 2011 model. I don't know about its accuracy as I get to pick it up today.
My 9c was made in 2010 and will sandbag into three inch groups (or less)at 25 yards with Winchester white box.
Even with the older M&Ps, the accuracy issues can be solved by firing heavy for caliber 147 grain 9mm (assuming we are relating the accuracy issues to twist rate). This of course has been corrected by S&W, and all of the newer models can stabilized any of your standard 9mm bullets (115-147).
Wouldn't it be the other way around? The heavier bullets need a faster twist rate, such as with an AR?
...A friend of mine had a Glock 17 that he claimed would do an inch at 25 yards, but he sold or traded it before I ever got a chance to try it.![]()
