M&P CONVERT

While I am a life long S&W revolver guy with one exception I have never been a fan of S&W semi-autos. The one exception was a Model 46 when I was shooting Outdoor Pistol back in the dark ages. A few years ago I bought an M&P 40 because I teach a lot of classes and wanted to be familiar with the platform. It is a very good gun but it never grabbed me as I am basically a 1911 guy for my semis. That changed recently, I just got my hot little hands on an M&P40c. I haven't shot it much and the trigger will take some getting used to but darn, I really like the little bugger. I put 20 rounds through it yesterday on my pasture range. If it hadn't been so darn cold I would have shot it more but it shows a lot of promise and once I get used to the trigger I should be able to shoot it a bit better. The picture is the results of my first outing on an IPSC target. The temp was 27 degrees. All shots were standing, two handed taking my time. I am a Lefty so I need to drift the sights a bit to the left as it seems to be shooting a tad to the right for me.

The only thing I see wrong with the shootin, that 27 you have for a temp. All rounds are in vital areas. Good job

Congrats! I have .40 FS and a shield 9mm. if I hadn't bought the FS first I would've skipped the shield and just bought a .40C and been done with it.
I love my FS .40. I just had the trigger done too and now it's real sweet to shoot.

Love my 40c which is my carry gun and the trigger will come around .. have around 800 rounds through mine and trigger comes out around 6 1/2 pounds started close to 8 1/2 pounds when I first shot it ..

last time at the range I was shooting 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 inch 10 round groups at 30 feet on a 3" x 1 7/8" bulls eye .. when I first got it my first few groups were 5 to 6 inches at the same distance and were to the left about 2-3 inches .. right handed .. so my first targets looked about like yours though was much warmer in an indoor range ..

I would put some more rounds through it getting use to the trigger before making any adjustments to the pistol !! Might just come around to your liking..

I've had my 40c for about a year, and because it's my primary carry weapon, I've put nearly 5000 rounds of a large variety of ammo through it. I've had only one FTE in all of those, and that was likely ammo-related. I can now put most of my shots into a 4"x4" square at 15 yards. I'm pleased with that level of accuracy, given that it's a small gun firing a heavy round. My trigger initially had some of the heaviness and grittiness associated with M&P pistols, but the grittiness disappeared somewhere between 500 and 1000 rounds, and the heaviness has diminished over time as well. It's still not as light as my Shield 9, but it's gotten very close. I've thought about getting an Apex system, but the trigger is now good enough that it probably wouldn't be worth it to me.

Choosing the 40c was a wise decision. You're going to love it!

The S&W M&P 40c is probably one of the lightest shooting 40's I have shot .. very comfortable in my hands ..

I also have Storm Lake barrels for 9mm and 357 sig for the 40c .. They're drop in barrels .. the 9mm shoots as accurately as the stock 40 S&W barrel .. got the 357 sig barrel for Christmas and haven't shot it yet .. the 357 sig fit into the 40 S&W magazine's and for the 9mm you need to pick up a couple of 9mm mags for it to shoot .. like the idea I can shoot 3 different calibers though the same pistol !!

Thanks .. that was the last group of the day if I would have left it at just a group of 5 it would have been closer to 1 1/4 inch group .. the last 2 shots in the 10 shot group were the one that was high and the lower one ..

Don't think I can do any better then that .. It shows the accuracy of the 40c !! My 40c is completely stock it is the LEO model #307703LE - with night sights from the factory and no magazine safety ..

I too cannot wait to hit the range with the .357sig barrel, I am used to .357sig more so than the .40 ........ 3 calibers 1 gun is my favorite way to go..

The M&P 22 LR Compact is probably going to be my next buy ,, wanted to get one for Christmas but they were sold out where I shop before I could pull the trigger on one .. very close to the size of the M&P compact just thinner ..

I have a 40 full size and a 40c, both police trade ins. I shoot the compact better than I do the full size. Both are great shooters though.
