M&P CORE with Romeo 1?

New to a M&P CORE mm and new to the forum.
I was looking to see if anyone has been able to mount a Sig Romeo 1 to the CORE.
I searched and saw threads discussing it but wasn't able to see if anyone actually mounted one.

I actually talked to sig . They said the romeo was was designed specifically for the p320rx. For me that immediately rules out the red dot and the pistol. That being said I'm sure it could be done. Most likely not worth the effort though. I have had quite a few red dots . Of them all my favorite on the core is the Docter DR II . The original rmr but better.

I had same conclusion. Sig Screwed up using propriety cut and sight. I mean a hair more cutting and a Viper or delta would fit the sig.
The red dots are starting to consolidate cut and mounts as they get more popular. Vipers and Bff and probably some others use the same mount.

I'd like to put an optic on my CORE. Suggestions?
Is the Docter DR II best?
And what's best in your opinions, 3.5 MOA, or 6, 7MOA? I have aging eyes and had a military friend say the 6MOA was best. I know he's thinking combat, but ultimately so are we if attacked. Just curious the thoughts of those who are using them.

I disagree at close distances the dot isn't even necessary. When you get out to 25 or 50 yards and are ringing 6" plated you'll be glad you have the 3 moa. The 6 moa at distance covers WAY too much target. I have or have had rmr's, deltapoints, fastfire , DR. II'"'s, DR 3's, the list goes on . My favorite hands down is the DR II 3.5 moa super small (cowitness) robust more so than the others, perfect dot unlike many others , and it's always on once you remove the cap it's go time. Heres one of my DR II's on a sig p227 45acp .

I don't have a Romeo 1, because in looking for critical reviews rather than fluff pieces I found it does not compare well to other more expensive, better quality sights.

It is always hard to give advice to someone without them expressing their needs. "What tires should I put on my truck?"

If you need to go cheap for an optic, I wouldn't bother. A CORE is a generic compromise to begin with. There are better mounting systems out there once you choose your optic. You also should take into account good co-witness iron sights as part of the whole package. CORE sights are not tall enough for some RDS. They may have to be replaced.

All this adds up in money and time. It's good you're trying to do some research first. There are a number of threads addressing these issues on this and other forums over the past year.

Buy once cry once
Core is the best ready to go platform for rds out there. Mainly due to depth of cut. If your optic doesn't cowitness , check out dawson precision they can make whatever you get cowitness.

So a Romeo 1 can be mounted using a Sig specific mounting plate that nobody has and nobody (even Sig) knows when they will be available........

Or you could use plate #5 that comes with the CORE.
Plate #5 would need to be modified by removing the 4 locating pins.

What's the general consensus of relying on the 2 mounting screws and not having the locating pins?

Please note that I did not modify the plate in this picture.

I had a glock 41 milled by lone wolf with a burris ff3 no pins. Just the screws/loctite. Maybe 2000 rounds no movement. I also had a walther q5 match with a vortex razor and no pins maybe 1500 rounds and it was also fine. Seems like as long as you use the proper screws your fine.

If the RDS Is not anchored front and rear by precise milling for that sight and relies only on short adapter plate screws, you have a good likelihood of shearing those screws off. This would be absolutely the least secure way of attaching the RDS.

You need either pins and/or screws and/or proper milling. Any two, but not just one.

The M&P Core has the correct setup for the screws.
