I'm considering a S&W M&P 45c in the near future. I've been reading posts saying its a hit or miss with the factory trigger. Has anyone had any experience with factory work on this gun, and is it worth it? Thanks

I've tried the factory trigger work on a "production" M&P Pro. it was 4.2# and crisp but still crunchy in the take up. Can't say a customer funded trip through the PC would be better or worse. I have read in several places that the drop in stuff from Apex will give you a better pull. I've also read great things about Burwell's Gunsmithing trigger work on these.

FWIW, I have a FS M&P 45 and think the trigger is very acceptable for defence work with just a little TLC per Burwell's instructions.

You are much better going with the Apex Tactical 45 Sear and Striker block than you are going with the S&W performance center package IMHO.

I had the PC action/trigger job done on my full size 45 and installed the Apex Sear and Safety Plunger on my FS 357sig. While the PC job on the 45 made it much better than the stock trigger, the Apex parts on my 357 sig have made that gun an absolute pleasure to shoot, very close to my custom 1911s. For under $70 and about twenty minutes you can install the Apex parts, the only real issue you may run into is removing the rear sight. I bought and used a sight pusher.

I have one M&P 9 with the Apex parts and two with Dan Burwell trigger jobs.

The Burwell guns are lighter poundage and a bit smoother. Both are very nice.

The Apex gun is way smoother than stock and the poundage is lighter than stock but not as light as the Burwell guns. Very easy installation (did it at home in about 1/2 hour) and hassle free.

I have a MGW sight tool, which is worth its weight in gold. It's very easy to use, well designed, and made the Apex installation a breeze for about 1/2 the $.
