The problem with getting them from Midway or any other vendor, is you HAVE to be johnny-on-the-spot when they announce they have them in stock because they go FAST. Guys like myself that are not around a computer all day to find out when they are in, and when we do get to a computer, they are already sold out.

I gave up playing that game after nearly a year and finally bit the bullet and paid $105 last night for two off Gunbroker. It was either that or possibly selling the M&P and getting another G19 where mags are plentiful. But I didn't really want to do that, so sucked it up and got the two off GB. I have had 4 on backorder with Streichers for about 8 or 9 months I think. It is ridiculous.

The thing about midway is they were in and out of stock what seemed like every hour when they first came into stock.. And the whole weekend when they were in stock they were in inventory the entire time without showing out of stock. I know its a pain in the butt. But they will eventually be back in stock so you can get as many as you want.

Midway USA has a neat feature called "notify me." M&P 9mm 17 round mags are "temporarily out of stock" as I write this, but you can select the "notify me" feature to receive an email when they get more.

They do have 15 round .40 S&W M&P mags right now, however. :)

Yes, I have used that feature with Midway and others. The problem is, as I stated, I am not around a computer during the day, and when I get to one in the evening and check my email............they are already sold out. Been there done that MANY times with both ammo and mags.

9mm mags were available for a full week before they finally went back out of stock. Some people were able to order twice in that time. Sign up for the notification and I'm sure you'll have ample time.

Admittedly, I pretty much gave up using the "notify" feature a couple months ago because of the "out of stock" frustration when I would log on after getting an email from them. I had no idea Midway was getting that many of them recently.

I just wonder why Midway seems to be one of the very few that actually receive shipments of them. I have had them on back order through Striechers and a couple other vendors, for many many months and never hear a thing. I imagine in 6 months I will have 30 mags and a big credit card bill. lol

I signed up for that notify me thing before I sold my FS9 and never got an e-mail from them, nor was it in any spam folder. I think it's better just to constantly check to see what's in stock.

They just received a large shipment and IMO, mags are going to keep coming, though will likely be in and out of stock for months. I was told by a S&W rep Midway and Brownells would be the first to see mags and was told I'd see them at both places in August. Here we are in September and Midway got hit with mags, still waiting for Brownells. I think it's a slow process but I think we're going to start seeing mags more and more and at more places.

Time is the answer to all ur problems.

Just like those expensive Pmags. Give them a little time. The market will be so crowded with them, the prices will be dirt cheap.

This is just a repeat of the past as with everything else that has been going on.

I like to have several mags, partly as a backup.

Not being able to get Shield mags for the past 5 months, with no delivery estimate available for my S&W order, is making me think about selling my Shield. First I'll have wait until my recalled XDs is repaired, though! Fortunately my Shield wasn't one of the ones S&W recalled.

Springfield Armory had plenty of high-capacity XDm and then XDs mags in stock when I ordered this year, in spite of all the hoarding and panic buying.

IMO, when i buy a weapon. I also buy all the mags that I may possibly need. I dont buy a weapon and then 5 months down the road decide i want more mags. Anything can happen within those 5 months and for all we know it could end up like it has here lately.

Rule of thumb for me. 6 mags for each weapon at least. If i want more, i may look for them later. But i wont spend triple the money on something that i can spend a little time and wait for. 6 mags should be enough to keep my minds off of any extra mags until they become available at reasonable price. If not, well the 6 mags will just be plenty for me for the rest of the time i own the weapon.

I had been having problems finding 15rd mags for my mp40c. I finally did. Things are coming back around its just taking some time. People are not hoarding up the mags and ammo quite as bad as the once were so that is helping. Just be patient as things get back in stock.

This is such a timely thread. I just bought a M&P 9mm Compact and started looking for some extra mags and wow, talk about a vacuum.

Thanks for all of the ideas. I have set my self up for notify at both Midway and Brownells.
