Spoiler alert this post contains a bit of information regarding a small bit of the plot of the movie the Avengers. If you Haven't seen the movie yet come back and confirm my suspicions after you've seen it.
Now correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the Bad Dude himself, Samuel L. Jackson, aka Director Fury uses the S&W M&P during the firefight aboard the floating head quarters.
If you go back and watch the movie again; During the scene where Agent Barton is storming the headquarters and attacking the command center pay attention to Jackson. As many attackers enter the command center and Jackson keeps putting them down, is that an M&P in his hand? It sure seems to have the same slide.
So if I'm correct one of the greatest handguns of the modern day is in one of the greatest action movies of the day
