I see in the S&W catalog a service provided for the M&P that includes polished ramp, tuned action, PC sear and test fire for $125.00. Has anyone tried this service, if so, how was it?

Thinking about it, Malcolm

Well, from the responses, it looks as no one else has tried this service. OK, I'm game, I will let you kniow how it works out. I am using the express service which has a 5 day turnaround.

I'll be interested in hearing about your results. I read a couple of posts on other sites that weren't too complimentary about this service. I was thinking about sending my M&P9 in to get it tuned up without voiding the warranty, so please let us know how you make out.

John, I would be interested in reading those post before I mail this pistol. Where are the posts?
Thanks, Malcolm

Here's the post that I saw - doesn't look like the barrel defect is a S&W Perf Center problem, but there some comments made about the PC in general. Don't think I would condemn the PC for this one post. I was just not as keen about sending my M&P in until I research some more.

I've never had any work done on my guns by the Perf. Center, only private gunsmiths. I would like to get the trigger on my M&P lightened and smoothed up. I guess I'm afraid the PC guys won't go as light as I would want them to, say around 4.5 lbs or lighter. Also, some of the gunsmiths who are doing the M&P will do the work for around $75 plus shipping. Alot less than the PC. I also believe in you get what you pay for. So I'm torn. I would like to see reviews from others first.

Must say I was interested and inquired and was told that they,S&W, would not do the action job on a gun with a Mass trigger..
Must be the AG's bullshite about the 10lb trigger or something..

SOMEBODY out there must have had the same concerns as me about voiding their M&P warranty, and had the Performance Center do the pistol action package. Anybody?

I did the trigger on my 45 myself and I have to say that for a $125 to do basically the same thing I did would be a rape of your wallat by the PC. These guns are so simple and easy to work on it's not funny.

If you want it done by someone other than yourself that's fine too but I wouldn't spend that much just to have a few parts filed a bit and then polished smooth.

Send it to dan Burwell at burwellgunsmithing.com and you'll be pleased with the results.
