Hey guys, I bought my M&P Pro 5in from my local gun store (Singapore).

I have put about 200 rounds through it. I used a trigger weight gauge to test and it is exactly 6 lbs.

The guys at the range told me as I shoot more, the trigger will get lighter.
It is supposed to be 4 - 5 1/2 lbs.

Will it ever reach the advertised trigger weight?

Other than the trigger weight, I am pretty comfortable with the stock trigger.
Should I change to the Apex competition trigger kit?

If you get the Apex FSS kit, it comes with 2 springs, that way you have a choice of 3 trigger weights (using the stock trigger spring will get you a 4.5# pull). The main thing I like about the Apex is the shortening of the pre and post travel of the trigger. I only use it for competition, I carry my 9c and have left the stock trigger in that.

The Pros I've checked all ran 5.5-6.5# on my gauge. Which doesn't mean much except to compare to other guns, and when I check standard M&Ps' they would be 6.5-8# with my gauge. Using the Burwell trigger job tricks it often may only measure 1.0-0.5# lighter on the gauge, but feels much nicer then the small amount it measured.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I used my gun mainly for leisure shoot. (I am not doing IPSC or IDPA, atleast not in the near future).

So do you guys recommend that I leave my stock trigger alone and let it 'lighten' up with more shooting?
Or should I just go get a trigger job.

That is a decision only you can make. Does the gun shoot good? Is there a reason a little extra trigger weight would cause you any problems?
I also have a 5" Pro that I have installed the apex competition kit in. With this kit my trigger measures 3.5#. I wanted a trigger closer to my 1911 trigger for shooting steel matches. The 25 and 30 yard shots at small plates were hard for me and the lighter trigger has helped my accuracy, but if I were not shooting matches with it I don't know if I would change anything.
