Someone asked a couple of weeks ago if auto M&P's were ugly, and I answered yes. After buying a 9mm Pro (4.25" barrel) Saturday, I wish to amend my answer.

If it wasn't for the rail, it would be good-looking, for a polymer pistol. I would like it better with no rail at all, but even one such as my Glock 34 has is better looking than the one on the S&W.

Is it just me?

To each his own  I think the rail looks just fine on the M&P Semi Auto Pistols.:D

Take Care,

I prefer ugly. Ugly is utilitarian and ugly works. I don't mine using ugly and I am not sad when I mark up ugly.

Ahhhhh, ya, I think so.. :) I have my MP45 sitting on the table next to me, slid on my safariland lite last nite , takin it off now and putting her back in the vault. Breaking out my 40c and have to decide what holster to wear today.... depends on how tight my parts are.... :D If too tight... I may have to carry the 638...

Hehe, I like this. I like the angles on the slide and the ejector (is that the right name for where the spent casing leaves the pistol?) on the M&P.

The rail looks fine to me. Actually I've never really considered its look until now. The very first shot through mine resulted in FTE...no problems since, but that's the only thing that has concerned me. Hope it was just a fluke! Only have about 100 rnds through it so far.

If ugly was a criteria, I'd never have bought a Walther PPS. That is one homely little pistol but one of the few I'd never get rid of because of its performance and shape. Still desperately ugly, though.

It is a tool, period, and not a fine O/U shotgun.
