Hey everyone I am having a hard time finding a price under 30$ plus S&H for mags for my M&P .40 C, are their any other mags that work?

Or am I just gonna have to buy them at 30$ a piece

Actually $30 is a great price if it's factory original. I have paid over $40 for one. Someone isn't making much profit on a $30 M&P mag. Buy more than one.

I'm sure there are some aftermarket mags available for a little less. But there are very few that I trust. I always stick with factory mags. Especially for guns that I depend on for self defense. My life is more than the $10 or $20 I might save on a magazine.

I was looking for practice mags not carry ones but ok thanks da** looks like Im going to be spending quite a few bucks!!

I want about 10

I've recently been directed to a site with supposed factory mags for $24. I haven't received the order yet so I can't say if this is too good to be true just yet.
44MAG.com-Magazine Smith and Wesson M&P Series

They have full size 15rd mags in stock, which I love for the range. You can use them without a grip extender but they're much better with an X-Grip adapter. Compact mags are out of stock.

Otherwise, CDNN has compact and full size mags for $30, that's the cheapest I've found previously.

so a full size 15 mag with grip extender will work right? I mean it will line up with my compact it wont look stupid?

If so let me know when you get them I might order 5 depending on how much the x-grip adapter

If the difference between factory or not is $10, I'd buy factory mags. Maybe buy only 8, and get the right ones to start with.

I just received the mags and they are indeed factory S&W, so that's a great deal! They use USPS flat rate $10 shipping for smaller orders, I just put in another.

15rd mags work flawlessly and the adapter is noticeable but doesnt look bad, they run about $12 though.

Bad pic but it gives you an idea (Laserlyte Pistol Bayonet not included;):D)

Is the adapter something you have to purchase for each mag, or does the adapter go on the gun itself. I've been looking hard at the M&P40c but I'm unsure about the grip with my pinky hanging off. This would solve my problems and would probably swing me towards the compact instead of the full size. I plan on buying one or the other next week. I've held both now and should have the chance to shoot both in the next few days. Minus the bayonet, I think that setup looks pretty good.

The adaptor slide over the mag, it's not required to use the full size mags it just fills out the grip better. On my compacts I install the finger rest basepad on all my mags, because I don't like having my little finger curling under the gun either.

What handgunner said, and every mag doesn't necessarily need an adapter. They easily swap between mags at the range, its just might be a bit faster and easier if all have one, if it's an issue.

Some people have trouble even with the finger rest, that's where full size mags are handy also.

I've had my hands on a compact w/out the pinky rest and didn't really like it. I'm not sure that I'll be comfy even with the rest so I had been looking for other options and this adapter fits the bill. Until today I didn't even know the full size mags fit the compact (lack of research on my part). If I need to get full size mags with adapters, then so be it. I really think I want the compact. Hopefully next week I'll get to shoot a new friends full and compact w/rest which should make my decision a little clearer. Now my biggest concern is how "snappy" the compact is compaired to the full size. If it's close to the same, I'm ordering the compact. If it's a big difference, I'll be ordering the full size.

Good plan. Other people's experience and opinions can only take you so far. At some point you have to try it out for yourself.

At this point in time,I don't recall the brand of replacement mags supplied to our military for their Beretta sidearms.I'm sure the government saved some money but at what cost with the problems that were encoumterd.I'd stick with S&W.
