good luck finding a .357 Sig for the Shield, I wonder why? insert sarcasm in the last 3 words

There's always going to be a handful of people looking to make a 'Holey Trinity' of barrels for their Subcompacts... :)

I have read of a case where a 9mm barrel for a Shield was reamed to 357 SIG, and fitted to a 40 Shield. The 357 SIG has a SAMII pressure spec of 40,000 compared to 40 S&W at 35,000. I would be hesitant to make that conversion for that reason. One reason I got a M&P 40c was so I could convert to 357 SIG one day. I came that close (holding up thumb and index finger about a half inch apart) to getting a Shield, since it is flatter and was $100 cheaper. The 357 SIG was one of the things that clinched it for me, although I also like having the ability to use 15-round magazines.
