I've had the 9 for months and had to try the 40. Not disappointed. Been to range a few times now and put a few hundred rounds down range. If you like the 9 you will love the 40. Not a single problem with either one. Love them both. Highly recommend one or both to add to your arsenal.

+1 on the 40. Easy to carry and fun to shoot. I was surprised the first time I shot it. Pretty snappy but comfortable to shoot. No low and left problems or FTF, FTE.

I have a few other bands in 9mm. But Really like and shoot my M&P 40c.really well

Very much liking the .40 Shield here too! Had mine about a month now. The little Shield is a very pleasant surprise. ;)

I own a 9 and have shot the .40. They seemed equal in reliability, slow-fire accuracy, etc. except I was disappointed at the amount of extra recoil generated by the .40. I think you have it backwards. If you like the .40 you'll love the 9.

will the shield 40 take the shield 9 barrel like the full size and compact 40s do thank you in advance

I thought the conclusion was no, it didn't work. Do you actually have a 9 barrel that you shoot in a Shield 40?

I'm not saying "don't do it becaue I know better". In fact I love my M&P 40 FS with the factory 9mm barrel and mags. I am a little embarrassed to say that I shoot better with the 9 barrel than I do with the 40.

I, too, have had my 40 a little over a month. I love it. Only had a couple of FTE's after nearly 400 rounds through it and I'm pretty sure they were because I was limp wresting it. I use it for my everyday carry.

Yes it will drop right on it.

A few of us on this forum have been doing this ever since the Shield came out. The problem now days is finding a 9mm barrel. But for those of us that go our hands on them. We havent had any problems.
