M&P Shield Lasers

Both are good lasers, all comes down to personal preference. My wife likes the Crimson Trace on hers and I like the Lasermax on mine.

I chose the LaserMax and have trained to turn it on as I draw. The Crimson Trace comes on when you squeeze the grip; good for emergencies, but runs down the battery at the range, when using your sights. No master switch to turn it off either.

I tried the Lasermax on my Shield but just found the on/off button awkward. Sent it back and got a Crimson Trace Laserguard and have been very happy. As far as batteries they (CT) provides them for life.

Speaking only from experience with the CT Laser guard on my 40 Shield. I'll just add that I chose that one because of grip activator and not having to flip a switch.
CT replacing batteries for life sealed the deal for me.

I had a CT and had issues with gripping, and the laser not coming on every time. CT sent me a new laser and I had the same issue, that if my finger did not squeeze nearly straight in, the laser would not light. The only way it would consistently come on, was with a death grip (super tight grip). Sent it back and have a LaserMax, which works great.

I also did not like that the CT caused my finger to be 1/4 inch further off the grip, than the other gripping finger, due to the button height. This was an uncomfortable grip, for me.

LaserMax is also half the price of the CT. Both lasers have almost identical power and specs.

Even though I registered two lasers with CT for the batteries I have never received any.

I have an M&P Shield in 9mm and would like to know your experiences on either a LaserMax or Crimson Trace Laser Guard laser.

Just put a Crimson Trace on mine a week ago and I love it. Accurate as can be.

I like the crimson trace. Registered but like the other fella I have never got any batteries.

They don't send them automatically, you have to call them each year, assuming you registered for the free battery program.

Have the LaserMax on Shield 40, and it took a dump after about 6 months. Instead of a dot it had a diagonal line. A two minute phone call and LaserMax promptly cross-shipped a replacement within days.

I have a Viridian C5L on my Sig P229 and I would definitely recommend the new Shield version.

I had CT since November 2013 and I loved it. Comfortable to the grip and with the Talon rubber grip certainly installed. It is super nice and shoot excellent. I had LaserLyte before and didn't like the fact that you have to turn it on/off manually and there aren't many holster made for it. uploadfromtaptalk1398116084332.jpg

I have a Lasermax on my Shield and have also installed the Talon rubberized grips. Major improvement in the handling of the gun with this grip. Laser was very close to on when installed, with just a slight adjustment needed.

what are the marks on your slide, where the "M&P" is near the muzzle? mine has the same marks on it, like imprints from packaging or something... I cant get them to go away.
