I purchased a 9mm Shield at the start of the rebate. Took it out and shot it with my 147 gr ammo. At 20 yards it shot 2 /1/2" to 3" high. No Problem, just change the front sight. Shot about 3 or 4 magazines of ammo thru it to sight it in and see if it worked.

Last Sunday I took it to a Steel Challenge type match to try it out.
WOW !! It shot Great! No problems what so ever. I think I even shot it better than the guns I normally use for that match.

Purchased a 2nd Shield towards the end of the rebate. Took it out to shoot it ,,, same thing about 3" high with my 147 gr ammo.
Stuffed some 124 gr. ammo I had in it.. Dead on...

I would have never thought that different weight ammo would have that much effect on point on impact out of such a short barrel firearm ,,, but I guess it does out of the Shield..

I'm very happy with the Shield..

Welcome to the we love our Shields club!!

"At 20 yards" with the Shield, I'd be happy to get all my rounds anywhere on an 8in target. You might be old & slow, but your vision is still good. :)

I normally sight my guns at 20 to 25 yds. BUT I sighted the 9mm Shield in at 10 yds. I shot 115, 124 and 147gr ammo and they all shot dead on for elevation and 1 to 2" left. An easy fix when I select my carry ammo.

I sight in standing up, two hands. Shooting off bags is OK to find the target, but may not be where you hit when unsupported.

What you are experiencing with the heavier weight bullets shooting higher than lighter ones is normal. A heavy bullet stays in the barrel just a fraction of a second longer than a lighter one which lets recoil move the barrel up more creating a higher bullet impact. The heavier bullet is usually slower than a lighter one.

 I love my 9mm Shield. I did install a set of XS Big Dots to help my eyes.

Mine shot low, but I installed a set of the Hi Viz fiber optic sights and now it is dead on.

I've had that happen to me before with longer barrel handguns.
I had a 8 3/8" S&W 29 that shot way high @ 25 yards with 44 spl. loads ,, and dead on with full blown 44 mags.

But never thought it would happen with a 3" barrel , 9mm. Just thought I would pass it on, in case someone else was having a similiar problem. ( the load I was using is a coated cast 147 gr. bullet at 950 fps out of my 5" 9mm ..haven't chrono the load out of the 3" shield)

I usually sight my handguns in a 25 yards. I had a Kahr 9mm that I just couldn't get good groups at 25 yards.. I just figured the 'Nut behind the trigger' needed adjusting :(..
( plus , Dawson has a sight calculator program on their web sight, just plug in the numbers. And they suggest 20 yards. So that's what I measured off. )

I was quite surprised with how well the Shield shot for me..
I shot the Shield in a steel challenge type match Sunday.. Actually had better times than I usually have with my S&W 627 with light 38 specials loads.

As good as it shot, the Shield maybe my new match gun.. :D:D:D

I took possession (after the California 10 day waiting period) of my new Shield 9mm yesterday. Went to the range this morning. Squeezed off 200 rounds with zero issues. Great gun! Very happy.

As a fellow Californian, welcome to the Shield 9 Club! :)

My Shield 9 was dead on right out of the box but then again, I mostly use 115 gr. ammo.
My very first M&P was the 9mm full size. I absolutely loathed the crunchy trigger and Apex triggers weren't around yet as far as I knew, which is how I ended up with a Shield. Tried it, loved it, bought it. I also noticed the felt recoil and muzzle flip seemed to be significantly less than my full size. No complaints there.

The new 2.0 has peaked my interest though. My local pistol range has one on their rental line and I must say, I'm quite impressed.
I may just have to get one for myself.
