Has the supply for a M&P Shield 9mm, caught up with the demand yet. I have one on order now for about a month.

That depend on who you talk to....seems some shops have a few...others can't get one.
 
I always see Shield's in stock, the only question is 450 or 500, I've yet to see them below MSRP, I think those days are a while away.
 
I just bought the last one my LGS had in stock today. They got a shipment last night and they sold out this morning. I was lucky to get the last one. In fact, as I was filling out the paperwork, another shop employee came over and asked if that one was sold. Whew...glad I asked if they had them in stock! They are flying off the shelved here where I live. Bought for $425+tax.

I bought an M&P VTAC 40 at Shoot Straight in Tampa Florida. They had a ton of shields..
 
There are still very few on the shelf in Texas. They get 2 at a time in most stores and they are spoken for before they can go in the case. Big store in Houston got 2 in today and theywere gone in 20 minutes. That seems to be the norm at least for a while. I got my first one at MSRP but the other two at a reduced price. Some places are as high as $500.00.

Not all at those prices. I bought mine from Buds Guns LE/MIL Online for $335 shipping included. They ran out quick. Haven't checked there for quite a while now.
 
The nw armory is getting 3-4 in per month. I'm 14th on the list and it'll be a long wait (for 9mm), so I'm glad I got on it when I did. However, $400 seemed to be a steal, till I saw $335--good on you cornchucker.
 
In my area there is still a 30-40 person waiting list at all the shops. A friend and I have had one on order from a small place for about 2-3 months now. I was lucky enough to stumble into Gander Mtn one day and find one sitting on the shelf.
 
here in Cincy, I'm on a waiting list in two gun shops. 8th in 1 place and 5th in another for .40- There's a list of 28 and 40+ for the 9mm. The other shop refuses to do lists, and only does first-come, first-serve. Which I'm checking in weekly to hopefully get lucky! Around here the gun is going for between 385-440
 
Paid $430 for mine a month ago and was happy to even get one no matter what the price was. Well worth the price as far as I am concerned. Wouldn't have had one even then if it hadn't been for the fact the S&W rep for our area brought a one to show at a local sporting goods big yearly hunting sale.

Just checked the internet site of the store where I got mine ( a 110 mile drive for me ) and they have 11 .40 shields and one 9mm shield which are all $449. They quote " The hottest concealed carry pistol on the market ".

I guess I'm 4 days too late.
They must have sold a ton that day, since a call to them now said they have been out of stock for awhile and no ETA.

Called around 10 other west coast stores and same story. Even two S&W Top Gun Dealers said they have been on order for months now with no signs of deliver in the near future. Waiting lists are long. (did find a few XDs but need a reliable carry gun, not something only good for the range. check out xd forums if you have any doubts).

Any current Shield sightings, particularly in the .40cal version, even if a couple hours from Tampa?

I picked up my .40 two weeks ago from Shoot Straight at the gun show in Orlando. They had several of them on Sunday, the last day of the show.

Handguns By Smith & Wesson

they have about 8 of the .40 in stock but no 9mm. talked to them yesterday so the site is actual stock. You pay shipping, but for $25 i'd rather have the gun in my hand in a week than in 3-6 months...

I was at Lakeland store a couple of days ago and Shields were in stock...

Thanks, that worked.
They now have 2 or 3 left.
$449 + $35 shipping, so looks like above deal from G&R would have been a better deal. First I'm too late, now I'm too early..
