M&P Ultimate torture test fail!!!

Thanks all, it kinda sucks, but like was said, lives were not lost. Stuff can all be replaced, and is already being one so. I look at it this way. I get to replace, and rethink my choices on some of my gear. A few hours on the internet, and a little shopping, and I was back to functioning at nearly 100%. The last of a initial batch of online stuff arrived yesterday, and I just keep watching for sales on clothes and such. You can let it get you down, or see it as an opportunity. I prefer the latter, and do so to show my kids how to handle adversity.

We went through Hurricane Ike a few years back, and that was 15 days without electricity. All in all it was a good experience to go through as a Family, and to serve as a learning tool about making the best of your situation, instead of sitting in a puddle crying about your situation.

My biggest concern with the fire was to recover remains of weapons, and important documents. I've at least got a few less than perfect copies of my DD214,and other docs, and my insurance has already paid me.

It's going to be a very nice weekend, and the Wife and I bought some new camping gear, and fishing tackle. We're going camping this weekend. It's going to nice.

Glwanabe, I commend you on your outlook and the way you are dealing with adversity! Enjoy your camping trip, and take the opportunity to recharge emotionally..

Indeed, this is always the biggest concern and often the least thought about.

Off site storage is very important. Everyone should have an off site back up of all their computer files. We should scan in any important docs and keep them backed up off site. Then, it's a good idea to get a safe deposit box. In that box keep originals like birth certificates, DD-214 and other irreplaceable docs. Another thing to keep in there is a list of all your guns including pics and serial numbers. This could really save your bacon one day.

I'm glad you're OK and hope life continues to get better. Enjoy the fishing.

I salute you and your wife for being such great examples for your children.
