M&P VS Glock

I own 4 Glocks(17/23/21SF/20)and now that I bought this M&P 9mm full size and took her to the range I am so over Glock. The M&P looks a lot nicer and the grip angle and grip thickness with the small back strap is just a dream. I installed a Apex sear & plunger with a full trigger internal polish and WOW!

I already sold my G21SF and picking up a M&P 45acp full size next weekend. My G20 I am keeping because when I go to the mountains she goes with me but the other 2 are going bye bye soon.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. The Glock's ergonomics pale in comparison to the M&P.

LOL. I had a 21SF too. I wanted to like it, but it just didn't fit me right. I'd have replaced it with an M&P 45, but .45ACP isn't my primary caliber. I have a Ruger SR1911 for my .45ACP range jollies.

My G20 I am keeping because when I go to the mountains she goes with me

...until S&W engineers decide to let loose a M&P 10mm

but the other 2 are going bye bye soon.

My G17g4 and G19g4 went bye-bye a few weeks ago. I thought I'd feel bad about it, but I don't.

My 21SF had the dual ambi mag released and to release a loaded mag you had to push up hard on the mag to release mag because the button stuck so hard.

My ol' lady has a G17 and loves it. Me... I simply don't like the feel of it in my hand. I'm slowly but surely educating her to appreciate the M&P9. Only problem is that she now wants one of her own... or better still one of mine!

I can relate I sold my g26 Gen 4 and bought the shield the same day. I'm happy I.did. I still own glocks but plan to.add m&PS. But in all honesty shoot a walther ppq any polymer gun will feel inferior

I have small hands, and the only Glock that ever fit me comfortably was the 36. The Gen4 models came closer, but nothing compared to the M&Ps...and the Shield is just perfect for CCW!

I had a Glock 36. Hated it! I now have a Glock 19. I can shoot it well becuase I practice with it a lot. It's the pistol I trust my life with. It's like holding a paperback novel. The M&P has a nice grip and grip angle. I would consider buying one in the future but my next Smith is going to be a model 27.

I used to own a Glock 19 Gen4. I too practiced with it often, and will still trust my life to a Glock 19. The Glock 19 is very accurate in my hands. I consider the Glock 19 Gen4 to be an excellent gun.

My only issue is that I had to conform to the Glock grip. The M&P grip conforms to me. The better ergonomic fit makes the M&P feel like a natural extension of my will. While a good gun, the Glock never felt like an extension of my will.

I did own 4 Glocks. My EDC a G 29sf or a 20sf but wanted at least a 40 caliber for lighter carry or a pocket .40 so I traded my G23 RTF for a M&P shield. The shield is a great firearm.Smith got this gun right. Have owned a couple ion G27's but the 27's were snappier than the Shield and was surprised that to me the Shield is more controllable the the sub c Glocks. The ergonomics are much better , trigger is better.
Now I wish that Smith would get into the 10mm. Doubt that this will happen. Glad I traded my 23 for the Shield.

Another one here, I bought my m&p9 talo @ a gun show and loved the feel right away. I now have well over 2k in rounds through it and I'm in love.

No sooner I bough the m&p my g23 lived in my range bag and shortly after I just sold a fully worked g23 with brand new night sights, 3.5 connector, Steel guide rod

And I don't miss it a bit and everyone I let shoot my m&p wants one of their own right after...

I have shot both and look at these polymer framed striker fired pistols as commodities. Anyone of these will function well and will do the job right out of the box.
The G19 trigger feels a little too light for me and requires care on holstering as with any other handgun but more so.
Both pistols have factory Night Sights and are accurate in both POI and group size at 15 yds. WE use 124 gr Lawman for practise and she carries 124 Gold Dot.
I see no decided difference in either pistol.-Dick

I have had both pistols and have to give it to the Glock side. I feel the Glock had a superior build quality and had the reputation as a primary pistol. But the Glock or M&P pale in comparison to my H&K P30. If I was to stake my life on a single pistol, the H&K would be king.

Check out GlockTalk, all you read is threads about guys getting brass spitting back in their face from Glocks, so if Glock had a reputation for superior build quality, it's at least been tarnished.

H&K P30 is top quality no doubt, that is if you like hammer fired pistols, ergo's are a dream. For the money you can't beat an M&P. With S&W recently upgrading the factory trigger, I really can't think of one real advantage Glock has over M&Ps.

My issued duty pistol is a Glock 21. My agency gives members the choice of a 21 or 22; nothing else. I train with it often.

I've owned / carried a few different Glock models in the past, but don't currently have one other than my duty pistol. Included in my small collection presently is an M&P Shield 9 and 9C. I've researched Glock, M&P as well as a few others. I went to the range yesterday with the intention of coming home with either a FS M&P 9 or a Glock 17 and 19. I took my 9C along and found the other three in the rental arsenal of a LGS. I fired 50 rounds through each pistol for a total of 200 rounds. Taking into account all aspects of what I want and / or need in a pistol, the M&P's were the clear choice for me. I certainly won't speak badly of Glock as they are fine pistols. I simply prefer the M&P at this point. But things can change. They often do.

I have owned Glocks for over 11 years. Still have a G26, however just as times change so do we as humans. I just picked up my first M&P9, and I will say it will not be my last. I like Glocks for what they are, and their reliability. They do seem to lack in forward thinking. That is where Smith & Wesson has been shining lately. The M&P line has so much going for it. I see a new M&P9c in my future. YMMV.

I rented the M & P 9c and the Glock 19 . Bought the Glock. To me the Gen 4 grip fits. The M&P fits me also but not better than the Glock. Rent before you buy, we are all different. Although I bought the Shield without shooting it and love it! There are exceptions!

I managed a LGS and when the first S&W M&P 9L showed up I knew by the feel in my hand that my Glock 23 was going to have to find a new home! Next I traded into a brand new M&P 40c and I carried this for a while, and then disaster hit S&W came out with the Shield and although I don't work at the LGS anymore I was able to get my hands on one immediately and it is one of the nicest firearms I have ever carried> Now heres my plight, I have a Kimber Crimson Trace Pro Carry ll, I love the gun but I want an M&P-22 and An M&P in .45acp, am I crazy to trade off the Kimber for 2 more M&P's? I will still have a 1911 Natioanl Match Pistol so it's not like I won't have another 1911! This M&P platform is driving me to madness, can you ever have enough of them? By the way sold the Glock last weekend.
