M&P15-22 Mag development

No need to delete/lock the thread, just don't open it. Plenty of threads die for a while and are then resurrected (as evidenced by your post).

Well I'm back folks. It's been a long and stressful 11 months with no good news on my high cap mags. I've just read all remarks since the last time I've logged on here. I thought everything with manufacturing was going to go well at the time that I gave time frames. I even planned on showing a video of my hard work but I couldn't. I'm not here to ask for sympathy just want for all of you to hear me out. I put alot of my hard earned money into getting the molds made. I even had an investor who jumped ship 2 weeks before molds were suppose to be completed. It put in a hard spot with the molds so I did what I had to do to finish what I started. We had 50 sets made and while testing the mags ran into many issues with jamming/feeding issues. Since the mags were ultrasonically welded it was difficult to shave material off of the interior to allow for the rounds to feed up correctly. We then had material shaved on the mold to fix the issue. Then we had 10 made and tested this time they weren't aligning right and made things very frustrating. To those who dont know about molds, once material is cut on the tooling material you can not replace it. So this means you start from square one again and even more money needed to have new molds made. Of course I through in all my chips at once at the beginning with placed me in a situation to contact new investors. There was a total of 178 people who sent me their emails for the mags, which I thank you all of you for showing support. I talked to about 6 investors from 01/2013 to 5/2013 in which they all told me they feel there is going to be a Ban on high cap mags and they are not going to waste money to loss it under a ban. Of course this would frustrate anyone who placed alot of time in design, prototyping, and failed molds. I'm determined to get these out to market and decided to go ahead and start my company with parts I designed prior to the mags to help me get the funding for the mags. In closing I apologize for not keeping everyone up to date with things I just needed time to gather myself and push forward. I thank you to all my supports and understand it will happen but now for now I have to go with what I can control. Since I'm not a vendor on this site I will not post my website information but I did see people have.

Best Regards,

Eric

It's good to know you haven't dropped off the face of the earth, but so sorry to read of the difficulties you have had.

Even though anything over 10 rounds is now illegal to sell here in Connecticut, and several other states, I do hope you you bring out a successful product for the rest of the country.

I reverse engineered each part of the Stock 25 rd S&W Magazine.

Just curious. In light of the fact that since this thread started, S&W has shut down other 3rd party manufacturers of magazines for the 15-22, I'm wondering if you should proceed? Especially since you state publicly you copied their work.

Eric Thanks for the update!
I am still willing to buy when they become available.
Good luck with everything! Ron

DITTO!!! And in light of the present state of availability in the current market, would completely understand a price increase. I'm not suggesting any price point to you...but a high cap(50) mag...I'd pay 50-75.

I reverse engineered the exterior of their Mag. The internals are all my design. I wish I knew about the lawsuits back in 12/12 would have saved me the headaches and money. So now I have to contact my lawyer to look into the patent to make sure I'm not infringing on S&W. I already have him looking into another patent issue I recently ran into.

I will try to keep my original pricing just depends on pricing of molds next time around.

My fingers are still crossed... not sure if that is a good idea or not...
