An updated picture with my new hardware additions :D

Even more additions..........bought a new billet lower on a whim from my LGS which is made locally and love it. I was planning on using it to build a new AR but love it so much I think I am going to keep it on my M&P15 Sport upper and keep the original lower as a spare. Here are a couple of new pics and a list of the additions.

I see you too had trouble putting that rubber cover on the PRO, Bedoiun2W. What I did with mine was to stretch it out so the rubber between the mount and tube got thinner allowing me to slide it in a little easier.

I keep seeing those angled things on the underside of the forends, and for the life of me I can't understand what the purpose of them is. They don't look comfortable, or useful. What am I missing here?

magc840- I didn't have a problem getting it on. I work nights and it was delivered during the day so I kind of put it on in a hurry and didn't stretch it out. I later put some ballistol on it because the rubber looked a little dry. Thinking about getting a Larue mount for the PRO which has a smaller base (and weighs less) so that would negate me having to stretch it out, but thanks though. If I stick with the stock Aimpoint mount I may stretch it out like you suggested.

El Bombardero – Thanks! I appreciate it. I like your Sport. What red dot do you have?

papajohn428 – The angled thing is the Magpul Angled Foregrip. I personally love it because I had a tendency to grip a vertical grip too hard and that would affect my shot placement. The front hand is supposed to just be used for support and the AFG puts my hand at a comfortable angle where I can move the barrel and have thumb access to the Surefire without over-gripping. From what I have seen, if you try a Magpul AFG, you'll either love it or hate it: I haven't met anyone who has tried it that did not have a strong opinion about it one way or the other.

Ergonomics. The angled fore-end grip places the wrist at a MUCH more natural position than either a standard/plain grip or the vertical ones.

That's not to say it is ideal for all situations. For the way I normally shoot, I suspect the angled grip will be a lot more comfortable and let me lock the stock into my shoulder better. The vertical grips just don't feel right or comfortable for me.

I've been waiting for Magpul to release the promised Stealth Gray versions of their components, but if I have to wait much longer, I guess I'm going to have to settle for black...

Here is mine

Started as an M&P 15 ORC
1) Barrel upgrade to FN M249 profile 16" chf barrel (lacks m4 cutouts and has 2x chrome lining) and (changed to a low profile mid length system)
2) Magpul CTR stock, MIAD grip, BAD lever, MBUS, XTM rail covers, trigger guard
3) Blackrain Ordnance 9" quad rail
4) Wilson Combat single stage match trigger @ 2-3 lbs of pull
5) Miculek compensator
6) Leupold Mark Ar mod 1 20mm 1.5x-4x green tmr reticule (illuminated)

Rate me, as all criticisms are taken as constructive

Last update for a while; I have a billet lower I built last month and want to complete that build.

I like to call it a M&P IME (Improved Mission Equipment)
Upper modifications-
BCM Gunfighter Charging Handle w/ Mod 4 Latch
Troy Industries Rear BattleSight
Aimpoint PRO w/cover in LaRue LT150 mount
Surefire G2X in GG&G SLiC QD mount and ring
Magpul AFG2

Lower Modifications-
Magpul CTR stock w/Magpul Enhanced Butt-pad
Troy Industries Professional Grade Sling Adapter
Magpul MS3 sling
Magpul MIAD Grip

Eventually I'd like to add a thinner rail (Troy Alpha, Noveske NSR, or Daniel Defense Modular Float rail) and a B5 Systems SOPMOD stock. I like the trigger so I don't see the need in getting a Geissele or Timney trigger and the S&W BCG is mil-spec so I don't see any need in upgrading that when I could be spending money on ammo.

It's not a S&W but I'd like to show off the new purchase anyways :)
Just picked up my Colt today! Still love S&W's though!
