M&P15 picture thread

Can you tell me about the 2X42 scope? I purchased an M&P 15 not to long ago and it the same scope attached. Maker? Model? I broke it down as far as I could but didn't find any manufacturer info.

Thanks !

Here's my sport! This is pic is about 2months old though. No real recent pics yet. I did move my Tru Glo red dot onto the top of the upper. Also installed Magpul MIAD pistol grip and B.A.D lever. I'll take pics tomorrow of it in its current config.

And as promised. Here is a pic taken today.

Jay, who makes your drop-in hand guards?

Mine are the Troy MRFsomethingorother. They are not quite "drop in", the delta ring assembly needs removed, it's a freefloat rail.

Looks great! What upgrades did you make? I've slowly been upgrading my OR. Thinking about buying a freefloated quad rail.

Thanks Gianni! Yeah just take your time with it. I go along as I shoot and see what I like function and looks wise myself. My original plans for this rifle have changed a lot as funds and the wife would allow.

Here's a list of the stuff that's on it now:

Magpul STR Stock
Magpul MIAD Grip
Magpul FDE MOE Trigger Guard
Magpul BAD Lever
Magpul FDE XTM Rail Covers
Magpul FDE PMag with some grip tape
Magpul Ranger Plate
Magpul Enhanced Buttpad
Tapco Intrafuse Short Foregrip
Troy Folding BattleSights (Front & Rear) FDE
Troy Battlerail Bravo 11"
Troy QD Swivel
YHM LoPro Gas Block
Aimpoint PRO with FDE Rubber Cover
Primary Arms Long Eye Relief 3X Magnifier
on American Defense Pivot Mount
Tacstrap
IKickHippies SLAP Plate
SureFire P2X Fury Tactical (EAG Model)
on VTAC Mount

Next upgrade I might do is a Geissele SSA trigger.

M&P 15 ORC and M&P 9. Just the start of the family. Now I'm on the hunt for a 9c as a carry firearm...ImageUploadedByTapatalk 21369781272.162839.jpg

Here's the evolution of my Sport from proud MSR...

To a not-so-scary-in-California featureless rifle...

The front sight is just a placeholder for the picture while I wait for a clone ARMS flip up to arrive. There's a low profile gas block under the handguard so the front sight will just be clamped onto the barrel in a pseudo-dissipator configuration.

It kind of looks like something James Bond would have used when fighting off Largo's scuba divers in Thunderball. :)

Anyone know where this grip/stock combo can be found/purchased? It's pretty cool. I have never seen one any where else...

Even more additions..........bought a new billet lower on a whim from my LGS which is made locally and love it. I was planning on using it to build a new AR but love it so much I think I am going to keep it on my M&P15 Sport upper and keep the original lower as a spare. Here are a couple of new pics and a list of the additions.

I see you too had trouble putting that rubber cover on the PRO, Bedoiun2W. What I did with mine was to stretch it out so the rubber between the mount and tube got thinner allowing me to slide it in a little easier.

I keep seeing those angled things on the underside of the forends, and for the life of me I can't understand what the purpose of them is. They don't look comfortable, or useful. What am I missing here?

magc840- I didn't have a problem getting it on. I work nights and it was delivered during the day so I kind of put it on in a hurry and didn't stretch it out. I later put some ballistol on it because the rubber looked a little dry. Thinking about getting a Larue mount for the PRO which has a smaller base (and weighs less) so that would negate me having to stretch it out, but thanks though. If I stick with the stock Aimpoint mount I may stretch it out like you suggested.

El Bombardero – Thanks! I appreciate it. I like your Sport. What red dot do you have?

papajohn428 – The angled thing is the Magpul Angled Foregrip. I personally love it because I had a tendency to grip a vertical grip too hard and that would affect my shot placement. The front hand is supposed to just be used for support and the AFG puts my hand at a comfortable angle where I can move the barrel and have thumb access to the Surefire without over-gripping. From what I have seen, if you try a Magpul AFG, you'll either love it or hate it: I haven't met anyone who has tried it that did not have a strong opinion about it one way or the other.
