Here's my 15...

She's currently sporting a Harris Bipod, Primary Arms 3X optic, BCM charging handle, and ambi-safety... I had a Primary Arms laser on her when the pic was taken but I've since removed it. I just can't see the value in leaving it there right now...

Where to start? The only thing that is still original is the barrel, bolt carrier assembly. Magpul iron sights, and the receivers.
When I bought the gun the Sports were hard to come by so I had to get a ban compliant rifle with a pinned butt stock. So I added a mil-spec buffer tube and spikes ST2 buffer. It has a Magpul STR stock and MIAD grip. I added an ALG ACT trigger. I removed the front sight post and put a yankee hill low-pro gas block and black gas tube. I covered them with a Yankee Hill spectre length diamond series quad rail with there end cap. I had the upper and lower receivers and the quadrail cerakoted before I put it all back together. I just added the Vortex Strikefire red dot. These guns are so addictive.

Thank you so much for responding! I'm looking to get a Sport when my LGS gets them in stock next (my 30th birthday present to myself :) ) I really liked the looks of your Yankee Hill Quad rail and will have to get one for myself!

New here.
Here is my "non compliant - Jerseyized" 15.

These are hard to come by in Jersey in the compliant version.
Most dealers told me 6-12 weeks with no guarantee. One dealer started getting whatever he could and then sending them to a gunsmith. And there still is a shortage.

Made up a wishlist of models starting with the piston version. Went to the local to put a request in for whatever he could get on my list. Turns out #2 on my list was sitting in the rack.

It was ordered for a customer who waited 8 weeks for it. Sent out and modified and then he failed the NICS check! Woo- hoo wrap it up, not sitting on the fence this time (another story with a Kel Tec Sub 2000).

This model has too many of the "evil" features. Legalizing this rifle meant the butt stock is pinned and the suppressor is removed and replaced with a comp, then drilled, pinned and welded. The gun smith also modifies the P-Mag by doing something internally and then blind pinning the bottom of the mag.

Only thing I don't like about this rifle (or my 15-22) is the grip.

You can see the pin just above the screw.

In this picture you can see on the left where the pin is installed and welded, Threaded barrels are one of the evil features. This makes a permanent mod.

Local guy in Jersey takes 20 or 30 round mags, cuts them and then rivets in new base plates giving us legal 15 rounders here.

I have had seven or eight NcStar scopes, their "Pistolero" scopes are on all six of my Scout rifles and I've never had a moment's trouble with any of them. I had a similar scope minus the red dot, and a buddy talked me into selling it to him. It was kind of heavy, but I still wish I'd kept it!

The same goes for my S&W MP-15's...........I bought three of them from CDNN a few years back, eventually sold off two to finance other projects, but kept the one with the best trigger. I've recently added a few other AR variants, a DPMS and a Del-Ton, but the S&W is my go-to SHTF rifle, it has yet to choke on anything in over 3000 rounds, and it shoots better than I do. I hope the other two can live up to that standard!

I decided to change my black furniture to foliage green Magpul. The MOE+ grip feels great...I really like the overmolded rubber over the polymer surface grips. I also recently added a Primary Arms 3X LER magnifier with PA flip-to-side mount, and a UTG low-profile bipod.

what magnifier and mounts are those on both the red dot and magnifier?

Newbie

Just recently joined the AR family and picked up an M&P 15 Sport. Really happy so far but I've only put about 100 rounds through it. I already see the sickness that comes with this gun because I want to go crazy with modifications, but I do want to figure out what I do and don't want and plan to take it slow. Started out by adding a cheap sight I picked up at Dick's to see what I think about a red dot.
