I just picked up a full size M&P22. Was really disappointed in how cheap they felt. I have 4 full size M&Ps with Apex triggers and really like them. But the 22 just feels like less quality. Also went out and shot it at some steel plates and gun did not shoot consistent. But it was getting dark so will see how it does tomorrow. What do you guys think of the 22s.

I had the compact great pistol, very accurate, never had any issues with it, trigger was fine. Last time I shot it put 500 rnds through I got bore to the point that I wasn't aiming through the sights when shooting and still was hitting the target. I don't think it is cheap or poorly made compared with others 22 on the market.

I found the M&P 22 compact less finicky with ammo as compared to the 22 full size. I opted to keep the compact and sold the full size later on.

I have had the full M&P 22 for a year now and shot maybe 5000 rounds. Must keep clean and beware of some Frog Lube issues with certain ammo but it runs flawlessly for me for most ammo. It is a perfect training pistol for my 9 Core. Put a compensator on the front for a bit more weight and shoot away!

I am happy with my compact 22, dont own a full size 22 to be able to compare but thought while the compact is built by SW the full size is actually from Walther if that affects quality any.

I don't have a full size 22 but have a compact 22 and it's a fun gun to shoot. It's accurate and have had no failures.

I have had mine for a couple of years. Shot close to 10,000 rnds. Fun to shoot, accurate, accepts most 22 ammo with little issue. I like CCI and Rem Golden. flawless.
I did have a problem after about 5,000 rnds. The ejector became loose and caused FT eject about every 10 rnds.
Sent it to S&W for a fix. No trouble since. They set a new rivet to hold the ejector .

I LOVE my Fullsize M&P 22LR. I've shot nearly 4000 rounds through it since I bought it in June 2016. My particular pistol has only 2 types of ammo that I have found it doesn't like AT ALL - Remington Golden Bullets and Remington Golden Bullets. No, that wasn't a joke. There are bulk GB's and boxed GB's. My pistol will simply not consistently eject or fire either.

Otoh, if I keep the pistol oiled/lubed, I haven't found it to not eat any other ammo fairly consistently (except possibly Winchester Super X's which are too expensive for plinking/target shooting anyway - some Super X rounds fail to feed properly for me but those same rounds will feed properly in a local range's M&P 22LR and Compact just fine).

As far as feeling cheap goes, mine feels identical to my Fullsize M&P 9mm except, of course, for the weight. I would like a larger grip (I use the largest backstrap on the 9mm) but grip width is a function of the mag/rund size, so I just deal with it. I may get a Hogue grip to widen the grip.

Just my 2 cents.

Drmweaver2, I find it interesting that you have so much trouble with Rem Golden. In my M&P22, they shoot very reliably. I'll buy a bucket any time I can find one(not very often).
