M&P340 - Best Defensive J Frame Ever Made

For the price, with my old eyes, I'll stick with my 642 and 638 with old fashioned sights (with red nail polish). At combat ranges I really don't look at the sights anyway, I just look down the top of the frame and can still keep them all on a paper plate out to 10 yards. I do wish those sights were available on all J frames.

Still don't understand what all the bad press on the Internal Lock is about. Sounds to me like lemmings going over the cliff. Has anyone ever really had a problem with it. I have six IL guns and shot thousands of rounds with them without an issue.

The M&P340 offers the best combination of weight, caliber, sights and out of the box function and quality for every day concealed carry of any wheel gun out there. If that is your criteria for top of the heap it is hard to argue against it. Other folks may have a different set of criteria for evaluations.

Personal preference and it reminds me of Clinton and S&W backing down in my opinion. Also, as I get older, one of the reasons that I like revolvers is less moving parts to think about under stress.

If you have a CT laser on it, then the sights are not nearly as important. I'll stick with my 642 for half of the price fitted with my CT LG-105s.
