M&P40 - I'm Not A Trigger Diva, But......

Just got mine (40) yesterday and shot today. Trigger was not bad, but I still like the trigger of a friends 9mm with the apex kit. Ordered DCAEK, RAM, and TruGlow sights.

shoot 1000 rounds and then compare it to your friends gun.

Maybe I am nuts or just don't have the feel, my new MP40 has a trigger that is smooth as butter out of the box. It can't be more than a 5lb pull. I love it as it is.

I thought I was the only one who felt this way. Granted, not quite as nice as the CZ Shadow I was shooting today. ;) Butter.

My MP45 feels the same, very smooth.

I purchased my M&P 40 in July and I thought my trigger was smooth. Then last night, I tried my friend's M&P 40 with APEX RAM and USB without the hard sear. I'm not gonna lie, it made a pretty drastic difference. The reset was definitely clear and USB made the break real crisp. For those that think they have a smooth trigger, I personally think you should try shooting one with some or all of APEX parts. It does make a difference...

Dry fire the heck out of it!

My .45 smoothed out in dry firing at the TV about 1000X! I' know you'll find a targrt to suit you. Make sure all live ammo is in anothher room. (G)

I think coming from a Glock, the M&P trigger will feel mushier for sure. The internal mechanisms are a little different. (Glock striker is partially cocked vs. M&P fully cocked design). This is especially noticeable if you shoot each of the pistols one after the other (e.g. Glock 19 vs. M&P9).

All of the other advice pretty much covers the deal though... some grit goes away with use, otherwise look at the Pro models or Apex kits... ;)
